Free Games This Week (Jul 17th 2022)

Want some free games? While this is not a huge week for free games, there are at least a few free game deals worth checking out on Steam, Epic Games Store and others! Let’s see what games you can download for free now:

Let’s start off with free games on Steam;

As for brand new permanently free games that are worth playing, make sure to check out Resonance of The Ocean. It’s a short adventure game with nice graphics you can play in 10 to 30min. This game was made in the 22nd unity1week, a Japanese game jam event. This version is updated with an English localization and with small changes.

Another new free game that’s pretty good is Classified Stories: Color Out of Space, a short adventure horror game inspired by the work of master of madness, H.P. Lovecraft. You arrive at the location searching for the recently missing girls, but soon you find out that something bad happened there.

What’s free at Epic Games Store this week?

There’s one free game at Epic this week: Wonderboy: The Dragon’s Trap. This old school platform game has been modernized with beautiful hand-drawn 2D graphics and remastered sound. Wonderboy can be yours forever if you add to your account at Epic Games Store until next Thursday, July 21st 2022.

You can also get a Gladiators of the Black Pits Pack for a free-to-play game Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms. The same game is also available for free on Steam but with no extra pack.

Any other DRM-free game deals?

GOG doesn’t have any freebies at this time, except, well, these 30+ permanently free games.

Also, at Indie Gala you can get multiple free games at this time. All of the following come as DRM-free downloads: Leisure Suit Larry 3, Leisure Suit Larry 5 and Echo of the Wilds.

At Itch.io for a limited time you can get 2 games for free: Clean ATTACK!, a game in which you clean windows and Oak Hills, a platformer in which you play as a dog in the afterlife.

While you’re there, make sure to check out the free short horror games CANINE and Cain, both are permanently free to download.
