Retronauts Episode 470: TMNT Shredder’s Revenge
Tonight we dine on podcast soup
2022 has been a booming year for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and their fans, hasn’t it? We’ve got Digital Eclipse bringing together decades of classic games in The Cowbunga Collection (coming soon) and DotEmu published a brand-new-yet-decidedly retro beat-em-up called Shredder’s Revenge. While I’m sure the former will warrant its own episode of Retronauts someday (I say, sneaking a peek at our secret upcoming schedule), this week Stuart Gipp is hosting an episode all about the latter.
Actually, scratch that: Stuart’s hosting two episodes about the latter and stitched them together for your convenience. First, he speaks to Limited Run Games’ Joe Modzeleski about the Turtles and why Shredder’s Revenge does such a good job of upholding the characters’ legacy, then he speaks to lead designer Frédéric Gémus at Tribute Games about the process behind making the latest game in such a long series. It might be hard to evenly split a pizza between three people, but podcasts are easier to slice.
Description: Two halves of the same shell, as Stuart Gipp speaks to Limited Run’s Joe Modzeleski about TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge. Afterwards, an interview with the game’s lead designer Frédéric Gémus! Turtle power!
