Top 10 Weird Free Adventure Games on Steam – IGB
When you open up Steam and go to the free category, you get greeted with thousands of titles, most of which are free-to-play games that try to sneakily get money out of your pocket once you start playing. However, there are many truly free and truly great weird PC adventure games that are a joy to play – if you like weird stuff.
I’ve compiled a list of 10 weird indie games that I’ve enjoyed and I hope you will too. In no particular order, I present Top 10 Weird Free Adventure Games on Steam:
10. Samorost 1
Samorost 1 is remake of the original Samorost game from 2003, re-released with new music and better graphics. It’s a delightfully weird little game and one of my favorites from this list.
Samorost 1 has Mostly Positive reviews and is available for free on Steam.
9. Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist
Now that’s a title! This short 15-20 minute metagame is directed by William Pugh of The Stanley Parable and is just plain funny. But don’t waste time and listen to me, head over to Steam and download it for free!
Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist has Very Positive reviews and is available for free on Steam.
8. Awkward Dimensions Redux
Awkward Dimensions Redux is a very original and surreal game that feels like you’re watching someone else’s dreams or reading a diary you shouldn’t read. It’s a quite bizarre little walking simulator with some puzzles sprinkled in. All in all, it’s an emotional and personal game with good music and it’s 100% worth at least a try.
Awkward Dimensions Redux has Very Positive reviews and is available for free on Steam.
7. Doki Doki Literature Club!
This insanely disturbing adventure game is also featured in our Top 10 Horror Games Worth Playing, although by the cutesy anime artwork you’d never guess what madness this game hides. Be warned, it takes a few hours until you get to the creepy part of the game that made it such a hit. Until then, it’s standard anime visual novel cuteness.
Doki Doki Literature Club! is available for free on Steam and it has Overwhelmingly Positive reviews.
6. The Good Time Garden
Just take a quick look at the pinky, fleshy weirdness of this adventure game in the trailer above and it may be immediately clear why this game has Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on Steam. I mean, it’s a game in which you walk around and slap strange naked creatures.
The Good Time Garden is available for free on Steam and it has Overwhelmingly Positive reviews.
