The ZX Spectrum Next…..is coming!! | GamesYouLoved
When we heard about a new ZX Spectrum project, of course we were all ears and we wanted to see what was being planned. So we met up with the man behind the project Henrique Olifiers way back in January 2016 and after just a few minutes …we were sold!
Henrique told us about his plan and his passion for gaming and his love for the Speccy since he was a boy and how popular the home computer was overseas in his native country of Brazil.
Henrique knows the video games scene very well, he runs Bossa Studios a gaming company that produces many popular games, he knows about the indie scene where games and dev’s are producing and trying new hardware. But Henrique’s heritage stems back to the 80s like alot of us and with him his first love was the ZX Spectrum and Sinclair!
He went on to tell us what he had in store for his creation and for every retrogaming fan that lived the days of loading games by cassette and listening to that screeching sound for minutes if the game loaded!
The ZX Spectrum Next is everything the ZX Spectrum wanted to be back in the day and is all it can be and more today. Packed with major enhancements, tech and wizardry the ZX Spectrum Next will be true to Sir Clive’s vision while bringing it to the next generation.
Most of all this thing looks dope!
Designed by the original designer of the Speccy (Rick Dickinson) it really is nice to look at and will look great up against any laptop or tablet even today, so we know you want the juicy bits and here is what the ZX Spectrum Next is packing as standard (there will be more added as part of the stretch goals):

Now as you probably already know by now the Kickstarter for the ZX Spectrum Next has already started and has done amazingly well.
Henrique and his amazing team was looking to raise 250k, and totally smashed the 200k figure in less 24hrs! After just over a day it was funded to the tune of £250,000.
Since then new perks and stretch goals have been added to the campaign to help make the ZX Spectrum Next even better for you guys….including dinner with Henrique and games legend Jim Bagley!
