How to Evolve Kirlia to Gallade in Pokemon Legends: Arceus
Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in the old times in the Pokemon world at a time when it was rare to find harmony between people and Pokemon. Set in the land of the Hisui region, known as the Sinnoh region in modern times, you’ll join the Galaxy Expedition Team (or just Galaxy Team for short) as a member of the Survey Corps stationed in Jubilife Village. You will be tasked to meet every species of Pokémon from the Hisui region to complete the region’s first-ever Pokédex.
In the game, there are certain Pokemon that the player cannot catch or are hard to catch in the wild. One of the methods to detect these Pokemon is through evolution. One of these Pokemon is Gallade, and in this guide, you will learn how to evolve Kirlia into a Gallade!
Kirlia to Gallade
Gallade is a Psychic and Fighting-type Blade Pokemon with a thin green torso, red horns sticking out of its chest and back, round hips, strong legs, a head that looks like a gladiator helmet, and a teal head crest. According to its Pokedex entry in the game, Gallade’s blades that extend from its elbows are sharper than the finest swords.
Gallade can be found on the second floor of the Snowpoint Temple at the very top of the Alabaster Icelands, and the Gallade can be found here at any time of the day and in every weather condition. It is also worth noting that the Gallade that can be found in this area is an Alpha Pokemon. Other than that, Gallade can also be found in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Alabaster Icelands.
However, if you would instead obtain a Gallade through evolution, the player can catch one by evolving a male Kirlia using a Dawn Stone. To do that, the player must first know where to find a Kirlia.
Kirlia
The player may find a Kirlia in the Crimson Mirelands (in Shrouded Ruins, which is at the top of the map of the Crimson Mirelands) and in the Alabaster Icelands (in Heart’s Crag and the Snowpoint Temple). Kirlia can be found in these locations at all times of the day and in every weather condition.
If you plan on distracting it with food before catching it, it is worth mentioning that Kirlia’s preferred foods are Springy Mushrooms, Dazzling Honey, Hearty Grains, and Plump Beans.
If you plan on battling a Kirlia first before catching it, it is worth noting that, as mentioned, Kirlia is a Psychic and Fairy-type Pokemon which means it has a weakness to Ghost type, Poison type, and Steel-type moves (super effective), a resistance to Psychic type and especially Fighting type moves (not very effective), and immunity to Dragon-type moves (no effect).
Again, to evolve it into a Gallade, the player must have a male Kirlia, so take note of the Kirlia’s gender when catching one.
Dawn Stone
Now that the player has caught a male Kirlia, all that is needed to evolve a Kirlia to a Gallade is a Dawn Stone. There are several ways that the player can obtain a Dawn Stone:
Dawn Stone can be dug up from treasure buried on the ground by riding the rideable Ursaluna. However, the locations where Ursaluna can dig up Dawn Stone are random.
Additionally, the player may obtain a Dawn Stone by breaking Tumblestone Ores that are shaking. Breaking these shaking ores, however, will result in a Pokemon like Geodude or Graveler popping out and battling the player.
Alternatively, the player can purchase a Dawn Stone for 5,000 Pokemon Dollars from Ginter at the Gingko Guild Shop between the Galaxy Hall and the player’s headquarters. However, Ginter will call it an Eyelike Rock. Unfortunately, the items the Gingko Guild Merchants sell are not the same so purchasable items may vary. To change the things that Ginter is selling, the player must first catch 20 Pokemon.
The player can purchase a Dawn Stone from the Trading Post near the Training Grounds for 1,200 Merit Points. The player can earn Merit Points by returning lost suitcases all over the Hisui region.
Other than that, the player may find some Dawn Stones on the ground inside of Space-Time Distortions, so check out the items inside them.
Finally, Gallade!
After catching a male Kirlia and obtaining a Dawn Stone, the player can evolve a male Kirlia into a Gallade!
To do that, this is what the player must do:
- Put the player’s male Kirlia in the player’s party by talking to the Galaxy Member near the tent on any of the Base Camps and selecting “I want to see my Pokemon” on the prompt or heading to the Pastures in the eastern part of Jubilife Village.
- Then, ensure that the Dawn Stone is in the player’s Satchel. If not, the player can access the Item Storage in any of the Base Camps or the Item Storage near the Front Gate in the northeastern part of Jubilife City and move the Dawn Stone to the player’s Satchel.
- Next, return to the game and press the up directional button to open the player’s Satchel.
- Select the Dawn Stone, select “Use” on the prompt, then select Kirlia from the player’s party to use the Dawn Stone on Kirlia.
- Confirm the prompt to evolve, Kirlia. Then, just like that, Kirlia will grow into a Gallade!
Now that the player has a Gallade, the player can try to use it to complete other requests, missions, or Arceus’ task for the player to catch ‘em all!
