How to Evolve Scyther into Scizor in Pokemon Legends: Arceus
Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in olden times in the Pokemon world when it was rare to find harmony between people and Pokemon. Set in Hisui, modern-day Sinnoh, you will join the Galaxy Expedition Team (Galaxy Team for short) as a member of the Survey Corps stationed in Jubilife Village. You will be tasked to meet every Hisui Pokemon species to complete the regionβs first-ever PokΓ©dex.
In the game, there are certain Pokemon that players cannot catch or are challenging to catch. One of the methods to catch these Pokemon is through evolution. Scizor is one of these Pokemon, and in this guide, you will learn how to evolve Scyther into a Scizor!
Scyther into Scizor
Scizor is a Bug and Steel-type Pincer Pokemon with a red and black metallic body, gray retractable forewings, curved hind wings, large round pincers for arms, large hip joints, wide calves, and feet with clawed toes. According to its Pokedex entry in the game, the shell covering Scizorβs body is stronger than forged steel.
Scizor is very hard to find in the wild as it can only be found in Space-Time Distortions in the Alabaster Icelands.
However, if you would rather obtain a Scizor through evolution, the player can catch one by evolving a Scyther using a Metal Coat. To do that, the player must first know where to find a Scyther.
Scyther
The player can find a Scyther in the Obsidian Fieldlands (around Grandtree Arena) and the Coronet Highlands (west of Celestica Trail at the top of the falls of the Fabled Spring). Scyther can be found in these locations at all times of the day and in every weather condition. Aside from that, Scyther may also be found in Space-Time Distortions or Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Obsidian Fieldlands.
It is worth noting that the player can find a Level 42 Alpha Scyther at the southeasternmost part of the Obsidian Fieldlands (south of Grandtree Arena).
If you plan on distracting it with food before catching it, it is worth mentioning that Scytherβs preferred foods are Springy Mushrooms, Dazzling Honey, Hearty Grains, and Plump Beans.
Suppose you plan on battling a Scyther first before catching it. In that case, it is worth noting that, as mentioned, Scyther is a Bug and Flying type Pokemon which means it has a weakness to Electric-type, Fire-Type, Flying-type, Ice-type, and especially Rock-type moves (super effective), a resistance to the Bug-type, and especially Grass-type and Fighting-type moves (not very effective), and immunity to Ground-type moves (no effect).
Metal Coat
Now that the player has caught a Scyther, all that is needed to evolve from a Scyther to Scizor is a Metal Coat. There are several ways that the player can obtain a Metal Coat:
The player may obtain Metal Coat after defeating or catching certain Pokemon, specifically Magnemite, Magneton, and Magnezone.
The player can purchase a Metal Coat for 8,000 Pokemon Dollars from Ginter at the Gingko Guild Shop between the Galaxy Hall and the playerβs headquarters. However, Ginter will call it a Metallic Spread. Unfortunately, the items the Gingko Guild Merchants sell are not the same, so the purchasable items may vary. To change the things that Ginter is selling, the player must first catch 20 Pokemon.
The player can purchase a Metal Coat from the Trading Post near the Training Grounds for only 1000 Merit Points. The player can earn Merit Points by returning lost satchels all over the Hisui region.
Other than that, the player may find some Metal Coats on the ground inside of Space-Time Distortions, so check out the items inside them.
Out of all the methods mentioned above, the easiest way to obtain a Metal Coat is by purchasing one from the Trading Post for 1000 Merit Points.
Finally, Scizor!
After catching a Scyther and obtaining a Metal Coat, the player can now evolve a Scyther into a Scizor!
To do that, this is what the player must do:
- Put the playerβs Scyther in the Playerβs party by talking to the Galaxy Member near the tent on any of the Base Camps, selecting βI want to see my Pokemonβ on the prompt, or heading to the Pastures in the eastern part of Jubilife Village.
- Then, ensure that the Metal Coat is in the playerβs Satchel. If not, the player can access the Item Storage in any of the Base Camps or the Item Storage near the Front Gate in the northeastern part of Jubilife City and move the Metal Coat to the playerβs Satchel.
- Afterward, return to the game and press the up directional button to open the playerβs Satchel.
- Select the Metal Coat, select βUseβ on the prompt, then select Scyther from the playerβs party to use the Metal Coat on Scyther.
- Confirm on the prompt to evolve Scyther. Then, just like that, Scyther will grow into a Scizor!
Now that the player has a Scizor, the player can try to use the Scizor to complete other requests, missions, or Arceusβ tasks for the player to catch βem all!
