‘The Cow Game’ Contains Unsettling Adventures for Bovine Protagonists

The Cow Game might have a simple name and sound innocent, but it contains a more sinister theme within. The more you play, the more unsettling it becomes.

Some games look innocuous and that you’d easily figure them out, but feel twisted and slightly off as you continue to play. At the start of The Cow Game, you play as a cow in a peaceful pasture in a fenced area. You can moo at your fellow cows and walk around. Quickly, however, a butcher appears and takes your baby cow. This is devastating to you, and you need to go and save them. Once you kick over a bit of broken fence, you have the entire world to explore.

Following the sounds of your baby’s cries, you will need to find the butcher and stop them. There are lots of regions around the area; the forest, mountain and lakeside, as well as hidden objects to discover in your explorations. As you move around the area, however, you find a lot of abandoned places – places long forgotten by the people who might have once stayed there. Strange statues are in lots of remote areas, and eventually, you will stumble into an evil cult.

Since you’re just a cow, there are a lot of other dangers for you. A bear might want to make you into a meal or hunters may look forward to some meat for them to consume. These dangers need to be avoided if you are actually going to save your baby cow from the butcher! But those dangers seem small compared to the eerie undertones of the game. Between the strange statues, cults, and the fact that you are a cow that can’t communicate with anyone – it’s an eerie game that’s worth checking out.

The Cow Game is currently in development, but in the meantime, you can add it to your Steam Wishlist.
