LINE Games’s Cross-Platform ARPG Undecember Is Out Now on Mobile and PC
In case you don’t already know, LINE Games’s highly anticipated action-RPG made waves last year with some staggeringly gorgeous pre-launch gameplay footage. It went live in South Korea this January, but remained tantalizingly out of reach everywhere else.
Now, following a much-feted debut at last week’s Steam Next Fest, the global version is available to download on PC, iOS, and Android.
Gameplay-wise, Undecember is a cross-platform action-RPG in the tradition of the Diablo series. It sees you charging around on a fantasy continent called Traum, hunting for Runes and obliterating monsters.
There’s a backstory, involving the creation of Traum by 12 benevolent gods and its near-destruction by a 13th, evil god called Serpens.
But all you need to know for now is that Undecember is a stunning example of the hack-and-slash genre, with a huge variety of beautifully rendered environments and a vast array of monsters to kill.
It’s not all about looks, of course. Undecember also breaks with RPG convention with an innovative classless growth system.
This means you don’t have to tie yourself down to a particular class with a particular set of attributes. Instead, you can freestyle it, building your character dynamically around the way you want to play and the challenges in front of you.
And there are plenty of ways to go. Undecember features Runes, Gear, and a unique Zodiac system that lets you build your character using Stat and Trait points.
Between the Runes you equip, the Gear you combine with them, and the upgrades you make, the scope for customization is essentially infinite.
There are ten Acts in Undecember’s story campaign, with more almost certain to be added in time. Plus, there are several challenge modes to mix things up and help you earn gear and resources.
They include Chaos Dungeon, Spire of Barrier, Void Rift, and a number of PvE Raids.
