How to Evolve Dusclops into Dusknoir in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in olden times in the Pokemon world when it was rare to find harmony between people and Pokemon. Set in Hisui, modern-day Sinnoh, you will join the Galaxy Expedition Team (Galaxy Team for short) as a member of the Survey Corps stationed in Jubilife Village. You will be tasked to meet every Hisui Pokemon species to complete the region’s first-ever Pokédex.

In the game, there are certain Pokemon that players cannot catch or are hard to catch in the wild. One of the methods to catch these Pokemon is through evolution. One of these Pokemon is Dusknoir, and in this guide, you will learn how to evolve Dusclops into a Dusknoir!

Dusclops into Dusknoir

Dusknoir is a Ghost-type Gripper Pokemon with a black and gray body with yellow accents and looks like a cyclops with an eyelid that looks like a mouth that is smiling, red pupils, and a yellow iris. Dusknoir has a yellow band near the top of its head with a short antenna shaped like a disc, two markings on its torso and back that look like pairs of eyes, and a wispy tail instead of feet.

According to its Pokedex entry in the game, Dusknoir comes to the people whose lives have ended and escorts their souls to the afterlife, and, although it happens rarely, Dusknoir is known to take the souls of people who are still alive by mistake.

Alpha Dusknoir can be found in the area mentioned in every weather condition. However, it can only be found there at night. Dusknoir can only be found in Deadwood Haunt in the Cobalt Coastlands, and the Dusknoir that can be found here is an Alpha Pokemon. Aside from that, Dusknoir can also be found in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Coronet Highlands and the Alabaster Icelands.

However, if you would instead obtain a Dusknoir through evolution, the player can catch one by evolving a Dusclops using a Reaper Cloth. To do that, the player must first know where to find a Dusclops.

Dusclops

The player can find a Dusclops in the Cobalt Coastlands (Deadwood Haunt) and the Alabaster Icelands (around ArenArena’sroach and Avalanche Slopes). Dusclops can be found in these locations in every weather condition. However, it can only be found there at night. Aside from that, Dusclops may also be found in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Coronet Highlands and the Alabaster Icelands or Space-Time Distortions.

If you plan on distracting it with food before catching it, it is worth mentioning that Dusclops’s preferred foods are Springy Mushrooms and Plump Beans.

Suppose you plan on battling a Dusclops first before catching it. In that case, it is worth noting that, as mentioned, Dusclops is a Ghost-type Pokemon which means it has a weakness to Dark-type and Ghost-type moves (super effective), a resistance to Bug-type and Poison-type moves (not very effective), and immunity to Fighting-type and Normal-type moves (no effect).

Reaper Cloth

Now that the player has caught a Dusclops, all that is needed to evolve a Dusclops into Dusknoir is a Reaper Cloth. There are several ways that the player can obtain a Reaper Cloth:

The player may obtain Reaper Cloth after catching or defeating certain Pokemon, specifically, Duskull, Dusclops, and Dusknoir. However, the chances of these Pokemon dropping a Reaper Cloth sits at 8%, which is very low and makes this a very rare drop.

The player can purchase a Reaper Cloth for 10,000 Pokemon Dollars from Ginter at the Gingko Guild Shop in between the Galaxy Hall and the player’s headquarters. However, Ginter will call it a Mysterious Cloth. Unfortunately, the items that the Gingko Guild Merchants sell are not the same all the time, so the purchasable items may vary. To change the items that Ginter is selling, the player must first catch 20 Pokemon.

The player can also purchase a Reaper Cloth from the Trading Post near the Training Grounds for only 1400 Merit Points. The player can earn Merit Points by returning lost satchels all over the Hisui region.

Other than that, the player may find some Reaper Cloths on the ground inside of Space-Time Distortions, so make sure to check out the items inside them

Out of all the methods mentioned above, the easiest way to obtain a Reaper Cloth is by purchasing one from the Trading Post for 1400 Merit Points.

Finally, Dusknoir!

After catching a Dusclops and obtaining a Reaper Cloth, the player can now evolve a Dusclops into a Dusknoir!

To do that, this is what the player must do:

  1. Put the player’s Dusclops in the Player’s party by talking to the Galaxy Member near the tent on any of the Base Camps and selecting “I want to see my Pokemon” on the prompt or heading to the Pastures in the eastern part of Jubilife Village.
  2. Then, ensure that the Reaper Cloth is in the player’s satchel. If not, the player can access the Item Storage in any of the Base Camps or the Item Storage near the Front Gate in the northeastern part of Jubilife City and move the Reaper Cloth to the player’s satchel.
  3. Afterward, return to the game and press the up-directional button to open the player’s satchel.
  4. Select the Reaper Cloth, select “Use” on “the prompt, then select Dusclops from the player’s satchel to use the Reaper Cloth on Dusclops.
  5. Confirm the prompt to evolve Dusclops. Then, just like that, Dusclops will evolve into a Dusknoir!

Now that the player has a Dusknoir, the player can try to use the Dusknoir to complete other requests, missions, or ArceArceus’k for the player, which is to catch ’em all!
