Konami Making Big Silent Hill Reveal This Wednesday
Hideo Kojima kind of had a falling out with Konami over his Silent Hill game, and the franchise has been dominant since Silent Hills got cancelled back in 2015. The good news is, the studio is planning some kind of big announcement in the middle of the week.
As per The Game Awards on Twitter, Konami will be revealing their plans for the future of Silent Hill this Wednesday Oct. 19. Here’s the post:
We don’t have any details about the upcoming reveal yet, but I guess Wednesday isn’t that far off. The last official mainline Silent Hill game came out back in 2012, and after ten years of no releases, Konami should be doing their best in bringing back one of the biggest horror game franchises out there. I mean, Silent Hill was even big enough to get several Hollywood adaptations. I mean, they weren’t that great, but it’s at least a testament to how popular the games are.
Before it was cancelled in 2015, Kojima’s Silent Hills game was generating a lot of hype, and a lot of fans were freaking out over the beta that released. You can’t get the beta anywhere else anymore, but there are some videos of what some considered to be an elevation of the Silent Hill franchise—too bad Komani couldn’t see eye-to-eye with Kojima about it.
Watch out for the Silent Hill announcement coming Wednesday Oct. 19, 2:00 p.m. PDT.
