‘The Bad Son’ is Full of Chilling Chases (And Monkeys)

The Bad Son will have you dodging some irate townsfolk in a town you never should have found. But some of the local oddballs aren’t so bad to talk to.

Your car never breaks down on the side of the road near some normal, dull town, does it? It’s always some eerie, red-tinged hellhole that you won’t survive. Tom’s luck falls in the latter category as he finds himself in the unsettling coastal town of Derrigtown. The folks here don’t seem too keen on having Tom around, and will come dashing toward him if they have a problem. All of these people seem to be professional sprinters, too, as these folks will tear towards you at terrifying speeds. You’re not always going to notice that they’ve seen you if you’re not being very careful, so expect to scream a couple of times as some enraged king comes rushing your way. Thank goodness some of them aren’t very bright, so you can ditch them by diving into a closet or hiding if you need to.

The Bad Son - a skeletal person plays the violin as you look on

Not EVERYONE is out to get you, but most of those people worried me more, if I’m being honest. Skeletal musicians, strange clowns, and other characters all seem to have something ‘off’ about them. Also, there’s word that someone named Malachi is the devil in disguise. And folks seem oddly obsessed with monkeys. And some seem to live nearby, but they aren’t really impressed if you go to meet them, either. There’s some bizarre connection between monkeys and the children of this town, but you’ll only be able to figure out what that is if you can keep from being killed.

The Bad Son offers many chilling encounters with its villains, as it only takes them seconds to descend on you. You’ll have to tread carefully if you want to understand what happened here, but it will be a scary (and darkly-funny) journey to get your answers.

The Bad Son will be made available today on Steam.
