Dire Dare – An incredible Amstrad CPC game entered into the CPCRetroDev 2022
While many of you are probably still enjoying the latest Amstrad CPC release of the hit classic of TOKI, there’s another game that’s well worth a load, and it’s CNGsoft’s latest game of Dire Dare. An Isometric action game with nods to classics such as Atic Atac. In this game entered into the CPCRetroDev 2022, you takes the role of sorceress Hecatia, whose goal is to locate and defeat Glanosuchus and Alopecodon, hidden in opposite corners of the mansion. In light of this news our good friend XeNoMoRPH has done a gameplay video showing how good this game looks and sounds as a top entry into the competition.
While I haven’t played the game just yet, from the look of the video above, you must traverse through many different rooms, while finding keys to open doors and magic wands that can counter the powers of Glanosuchus and Alopecodon. The game is filled to the brim with enemies that can be defeated with these magic wands, which in turn give you extra abilities such as running quickly, stopping the spontaneous motion of random doors, and blasting more than one enemy with a single spell.
