Koopa Kast 124 – Kirby’s Dreamland trilogy
Welcome to the latest in our Koopa Kast podcast series! This week, Trev and Jem talk about all things Kirby – well, to be precise, all things Kirby’s Dream Land, the original trilogy that started life on the Gameboy and ended on the SNES.
Koopa Kast 124 – Kirby’s Dreamland trilogy
The gaming series consists of three original titles, which debuted on the Gameboy in 1992. This first outing was a short affair, and Kirby hadn’t quite rounded out to become the character we know and love today quite yet.
Kirby’s Dream Land 2 followed in 1995, also for the classic grayscale handheld system. Kirby’s Dream Land 3 rounds out the trilogy, coming in 1997 on the aging Super Nintendo system.
Kirby has been in many titles over the years, featuring in all sorts of spin-offs, including his most recent outing, Kirby’s Dream Buffet. With Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2023, it’s the perfect time to revisit the classic entries that helped cement Kirby’s popularity.
During the show, Trev and Jem talk about their memories with the games, including their favorite moves and animal friends. It’s gotta be the hamster, right?
Everything to do with Kirby is simply adorable, and we could talk for hours about his antics – even his involvement in Smash Bros. – but let us know your thoughts on the Pink Puff in the comments section below.
