New Trailer for Crisis Core – Final Fantasy VII – Reunion Promises More than a Remaster

Before we get to continue the new adventures of Cloud, Tifa, and gang, Square Enix is giving fans a chance to play the remastered prequel Crisis Core – Final Fantasy VII – Reunion. The remake comes out in December, and we have a new trailer showcasing how the upcoming game is ‘more than a remaster.’

Watch this:

CRISIS CORE™ –FINAL FANTASY® VII– REUNION, the modern version of the cult classic action RPG and prequel to FINAL FANTASY VII, is “More than a Remaster”, featuring a complete HD graphics overhaul, newly arranged soundtrack, fully voiced dialogue in English and Japanese, and an updated combat system.

The original Crisis Core had come out for the PSP back in 2007, so you can see that Square’s update of the game is still a huge leap when it comes to graphics and gameplay. If anything, it’s kind of amazing that they still manage to have this title on the Nintendo Switch, but it is a whole decade ahead when it comes to the specs required to play the game.

Though a lot of people would want to get in on the follow-up to FFVII Remake, Crisis Core  should keep them satiated while they wait for the release of Rebirth. Besides, it gives us some solid backstory on Aerith and Cloud from the point of view of Zack Fair—who was a character teased in Remake as well.

Crisis Core – Final Fantasy VII – Reunion launches for PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on Dec. 13.
