The Xbox 360 Controller is Making a Comeback

It’s been 17 years since the launch of the Xbox 360, and though Microsoft has moved on to new controllers for the Xbox One and Series X|S, Hyperkin is ready to come back to 2006 with the return of the classic controller.

Here’s the announcement for the return of the Hyperkin Xenon, a replica of the original Xbox 360 controller made for the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC:

According to IGN, the Xenon is named after the Xbox 360’s official codename before it was officially unveiled at E3 2005. Though the Xenon is supposed to be a replica of the original controller, it still has buttons added for new-gen consoles—specifically the menu, view, and share buttons.

Besides the classic white appearance, the Xenon will also be available in black, white, pink, and red.

This isn’t the first time that Hyperkin has brought back an old-school controller for the Xbox. Back in 2018, they released a replica of the original Xbox controller dubbed Duke, and they released it again with a Cortana edition to celebrate Xbox’s 20th anniversary. Who knows, if we wait long enough, even the Xbox One is going to get a replica of its controller for a new-gen console.

No release date has been announced for the Hyperkin Xenon, but some are speculating that it could officially come to shelves sometime next year.
