Pokémon Scarlet and Violet elite four
If you’re looking for help taking on the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet elite four, we don’t blame you. This gauntlet is just as challenging as any other version across the series, potentially even more so with tera types included, so we’ve put together this guide to get you to champion status in no time at all.

Who are the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet elite four and champion?
If you’ve never played a Pokémon game before then you wouldn’t know, but there’s a long tradition in the Game Freak series of challenging the player at the end of the game with the elite four and champion battles. As ever, these five battles are back to back, but in this game, you do at least get a free Pokémon centre-style heal before you face the champion. If you want to know vague typings for the opponents, but don’t want the full teams, we’ve got bullet points below, and then a proper with individual teams in the next section, so it’s your call.
- Elite four Rikka – Ground

- Elite four Larry – Flying

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet elite four guide
Elite four Rikka
Rikka’s team is pretty easy to whip through, providing you’ve got at least one good grass move to deal with Whiscash and a water Pokémon to wash away Camerupt, Donphan, and Dugtrio. The tricky bit is Clodsire, with half-poison typing taking the oomph out of your grass attacks and its ability to soak up water attacks for extra HP. The best course of action here is something with an ice move, preferably a physical ice move like Ice Punch, and Clodsire should go down in no time.

Elite four Poppy
For this part of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet elite four gauntlet, you need a fire-type or a fighting-type, with fire having a slight advantage in the long run. You can quite easily sweep Poppy’s entire team if you set up a Swords Dance on your first turn with Ceruledge, or if you’re playing on Scarlet, then Armarouge is a good option too. Either way, go for the flames.

Elite four Larry
Larry is back for another battle as a member of the elite four, but this time he uses flying-types. All the monsters in this team can easily be taken out with a rock-type, or even a single rock move if it’s taught to the right Pokémon, but you do need some speed to outpace Flamigo at the end of the battle. It’s safe to bring a speedy electric-type to deal any finishing damage if your rock type crumbles.

Elite four Hassel
It wouldn’t be an elite four challenge without a dragon user, though it must be said these battles have become much easier since the introduction of the fairy-type. For this battle, I personally let my fairy tera type Dachsbun run riot on the opponent’s team, and I recommend you do the same and bring a fairy to fell these dragons. It’s worth pointing out that the Dragalge has the poison point ability, so try to hit it with a special move if possible.

Champion Geeta
As is the case with the more recent champions in Pokémon games, the culmination of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet elite four challenge is in taking on a mixed team of powerful monsters. Can I rematch the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet elite four?
Unfortunately, there is no rematch option currently in the game for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet elite four. There is a chance you can take them on individually again as part of the post-game academy ace tournament, but in terms of officially taking on the elite four, it’s a one-time deal.
