‘Elevator Action Returns’, ‘Astronite’, and Today’s Other New Releases and Sales – TouchArcade
Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for November 30th, 2022. We’re finishing up the month on a quiet note, friends. There are five new releases to look at today, with a few notables amongst them. We’ve got summaries for all of them, of course. We’ve also got the new sales (not much) and outgoing sales (quite a lot) to check out. So let’s get to that checking out, shall we?
New Releases
Front Mission 1st: Remake ($34.99)
You might remember Forever Entertainment from its bland but serviceable remakes of Panzer Dragoon and House of the Dead. Well, here’s a bland but serviceable remake of the DS remake of Front Mission. It sucks almost all of the charm out of the visuals but otherwise seems to have its t’s crossed and i’s dotted. Forever will also be doing remakes of Front Mission 2 and Front Mission 3, apparently. So yes, do look forward to those.
Elevator Action -Returns- S-Tribute ($14.99)
Elevator Action is back… in Saturn form! If you’ve never played Elevator Action Returns before, it’s a sequel that expands so much on the original it’s almost hard to consider them the same series. Except it still has the elevators, so I guess the title tells no lies. This is an emulation of the Saturn version, which itself is a pricey rarity. We’ve seen this emulator in action in a few other releases on Switch, and it seems to be in better shape these days than it was with the Cotton releases it debuted with. This one is definitely worth punching a ticket for.
Astronite ($14.99)
Hey, it’s one of those games with what has come to be known as 1-bit graphics. This one is a Metroidvania-style affair about an explorer trying to eliminate an invasive species from their home planet. There’s a huge map to explore, power-ups to acquire, challenges to beat, and some wildly difficult bosses to fight. This is a tough one to be sure, but my brief time with it tells me it’s at least quite well-made. I might review this one, but I’ll have to see if my schedule allows it.
Until the Last Plane ($9.99)
You might take a look at that screenshot and think this is a basic shoot-em-up. Then you might read the description and think this is a simulation game. It’s not really either of those things, though. It’s just a series of short, repetitive mini-games all dressed up in a World War II theme. It more or less plays its hand completely within a half hour, and it’s not much of a hand.
Megalan 11 ($9.99)
A bit of a relaxed exploration game with some very light puzzle and survival elements. You’re on a strange planet, your ship is busted from a bad landing, and you have eleven days to escape with your crew of five. While reviews aren’t overwhelmingly good on other platforms, it does seem to have its fans. Maybe you will be one of them.
Sales
(North American eShop, US Prices)
Hey, I said the list of new sales was short. I don’t even need to highlight anything from it, you’ve probably already seen the full list just by darting your eyes down. So instead I will direct you to the outbox, where great games like Beacon Pines, Chasm, Danmaku Unlimited 3, Paradise Killer, and Horizon Chase Turbo are wrapping up their latest discounts.

That’s all for today and this month, friends. Tomorrow I have to go to the fancy hospital for my every-six-months tests to see how my condition is progressing. I think I will have an article of some kind ready for you anyway, but we’ll have to see how things go. Do wish me luck. I hope you all have a great Wednesday, and as always, thanks for reading!
