Resident Evil 4 is in its ‘Final Spurt’ of Development

Resident Evil 4 pretty much introduced RE to the third-person shooter genre, and now Capcom is gearing up for the release of the remake later this year.

In a New Year’s message from producer Yoshiaki Hibarayashi (via Famitsu), he explains that the developers are currently in the final stages of the game’s development. He shares:

“We are working hard to provide you with more information about Resident Evil 4 in preparation for its release on March 24th… The game is also in the final spurt to make the team united and make it a little better. Please wait just a little longer.”

With a release set for March, we should think that a new trailer could be dropped later in the month or maybe some time around February. With RE 5 coming out on the PS4, the remake of RE 4 would be the final thread that would bring all of the old-gen Resident Evil titles to modern consoles.

We don’t know how much the remake is going to be different, but sure enough a lot of fans are excited for the re-telling of Leon and Ada’s entry in the franchise.

Here’s the plot summary for the game:

Six years after the events in Raccoon City, Leon Kennedy, now a federal agent, is sent to a rural part of Spain to rescue the U.S. President’s kidnapped daughter, Ashley Graham from a sinister cult.

Resident Evil 4 is set to launch for PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 24.
