Atlus Allegedly Developing Persona 3 Remake
After the buzz surrounding the release of Persona 5 Royal, it looks like developer Atlus could be moving backward in the IP to remake a fan-favourite entry.
As it turns out, multiple sources (via My Nintendo News) have confirmed that a remake of Persona 3 is in the works at Atlus. We don’t have any new images of teaser clips, but it is said that the remake will feature ‘Persona 5-style graphics and gameplay.’
Ever since the game launched in 2006, Persona 3 had already received remakes, namely Persona 3 FES and Persona 3 Portable. We don’t know what else changes could be coming to this remake, but with a game that’s been out since 2006, there are probably a lot of improvements that could be added in the graphics front.
Besides, with every remake, there is always a chance to draw in an audience who was never able to enjoy the original when it was released. Hopefully this remake of the game can get fans into Persona 3 without them having to stomach mid-2000s visuals.
Here’s the official description for the game:
Shortly after transferring to Gekkoukan High School, the protagonist encounters the “”Dark Hour.”” Unfamiliar stillness swallows the city, people turn into eerie coffins, and otherworldly monsters called Shadows swarm. When they are attacked by one of these Shadows and all hope seemed lost, the power of the heart, their Persona is awakened.
With this newfound power, they pursue the truth of the Dark Hour and face the destiny that awaits them.
As of now, the Persona 3 remake has not been officially announced, but fans are hoping that it came come out this year. In the meantime, you can still access Persona 3 for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
