Zelda: A Link to the Past instruction booklet artwork gets animated fan treatment
The Legend of Zelda has seen many art styles over the years, but none may be as iconic as what you see above. That art comes straight from from the instruction manual/supplemental materials for The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. While Nintendo themselves only released a handful of these images, a dedicated fan is working hard to turn them into beautiful animated snippets.
Animator Parker Simmons has used the artwork at the top of this post as a starting point to create short animated snippets. The animation retains the same style Nintendo created for the artwork, but brings it to life with amazing attention to detail. There’s no doubt this quality of work is good enough to be the real-deal, and Nintendo fans would definitely appreciate seeing a full-fledge animated feature in this style.
