Where to Find an Alpha Chimecho in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in the early days of the Pokemon universe when humans and Pokemon did not live side by side. This game is set in the Hisui region, modern-day Sinnoh. To complete Hisui’s first Pokédex, the player must catch every Pokémon species found here. In Jubilife Village, the player will join the Galaxy Expedition Team (also known as Galaxy Team) as a member of the Survey Corps.

In the Hisui region, there are Pokemon that are larger than their regular counterparts, have burning red eyes, and are bursting with Wild Might, which increases their battle skills and raises their stats. They are referred to as Alpha Pokemon.

In this guide, we will learn where to find an Alpha Chimecho!

Alpha Pokemon

An Alpha Pokemon always has a greater level than its ordinary counterparts. They are all aggressive and never run away when they see the player, except Mantyke and Mantine (except when the type of Alpha Pokemon appears during a certain time of day or if a Space-Time Distortion appears around them). When an Alpha Pokemon spots the player, it will roar and generate a shockwave. If the player is close enough, they might stun and knock the player to the ground.

Regardless of level, the Alpha Pokemon can be caught by battling it before throwing a Poke Ball. The player, however, will be unable to do so if their current obedience level is significantly lower than that of the Alpha Pokemon. To avoid battling, the player can sneak up on Alpha Pokemon in tall grass or use stealth items before throwing a Poke Ball.

Furthermore, suppose the player is having difficulty catching an Alpha Pokemon. In that case, they can increase their Star Rank, also known as their Survey Corps rank, by performing Research Tasks and speaking with Professor Laventon in any of the Base Camps.

In the game, there are three types of Alpha Pokemon: fixed Alpha Pokemon, which always spawn in specific locations and have a fixed level; random Alpha Pokemon, which may only appear after the player calms the area’s frenzied Noble Pokemon; and Alpha Pokemon in Massive Mass Outbreaks, which may appear as a second wave in the same location as the first wave of a Mass Outbreak.

Since the other types two Alpha Pokemon are completely random, we will only talk about a fixed Alpha Pokemon, specifically an Alpha Chimecho.

Alpha Chimecho

Chimecho is a Psychic type Wind Chime Pokemon. It has a light blue and red body resembling a wind chime, yellow eyes, three short and stubby limbs, a yellow and circular suction cup on top of its head, and a tail resembling a tag with an amaranth pattern at the bottom of its body.

Chimecho can create potent airwaves that can even knock out prey higher than itself, according to its Pokedex entry in the game. Furthermore, Chimecho intensifies the slight sound of the wind inside its body.

An Alpha Chimecho can be found in the southwestern part of Lake Acuity (southwest of Snowpoint Temple or northeast of Glacier Terrace) in the Alabaster Icelands and in the area mentioned at all times of the day and in every weather condition. The Alpha Chimecho that can be found in this location is a Level 65 Pokemon.

It is advisable to sneak up behind the Alpha Pokemon utilizing tall grass and/or other stealth items like Smoke Bombs and throw the player’s Pokemon or Poke Ball on its back to catch it off guard in a fight to ensure that the player moves first.

Chimecho’s preferred foods are Springy Mushroom and Plump Beans, so keep that in mind if you want to use food to lure the Chimecho before you catch it.

Additionally, suppose you plan on battling a Chimecho. In that case, it is worth noting that, as mentioned, Chimecho is a Psychic type Pokemon which means it has a weakness to the Bug-type, Dark-type, and Ghost-type moves (super effective) and resistance to Fighting-type and Psychic-type moves (not very effective).

Aside from the Alpha Chimecho that can be found in the Alabaster Icelands, the regular, non-alpha, Chimecho can also be found in the Coronet Highlands (in Celestica Trail and south of Sacred Plaza) and in the Alabaster Icelands (west of Lake Acuity) and can also be found here at all times of the day and in every weather condition. Aside from that, Chimecho can also be found in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Coronet Highlands.

Now that the player has an Alpha Chimecho, the player can try to use the Alpha Chimecho to complete other requests, missions, or Arceus’ tasks for the player to catch ‘em all!
