Luke Skywalker Trains Cal Kestis in Ad for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launches this week, and the hype for the release is definitely on. Just in, EA has dropped an ad for the game which has star Cameron Monaghan receiving Jedi training from Luke Skywalker himself Mark Hamill.

Playing as a Jedi may look easy, but in Motion Capture Session 386, Mark Hamill pops in to offer actor Cameron Monaghan some advice on his role as Jedi Cal Kestis in STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor. Wise words and questionable training methods from Mark will hopefully give Cameron the edge he needs as he continues his journey from STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order™.

The video essentially has Mark Hamill play the Yoda to Monaghan’s Luke, and we have some references to Luke’s training sessions in Empire Strikes Back. I would have actually loved if we got some references to The Last Jedi, but I guess that just invites a can of worms from anyone who can’t shut up about the movie.

I guess it’s also worth noting that they kind of did a ‘Reverse Mark Hamill’ when they cast Monaghan as Cal. Whereas Hamill played a Jedi then became Batman’s archenemy the Joker; Monaghan was playing the Joker in Gotham when he was cast to play a Jedi in Fallen Order.
