This is a simple plugin replacer + BOS config file for Mihail’s Hanging Dead Chickens. It removes all edits to vanilla cells/locations, and instead integrates Mihail’s dead chickens through the power of powerofthree’s Base Object Swapper. The default settings swap the vanilla dead pheasants out for Mihail’s chickens with a 40% probability (so you will still see both dead animals).
All of Mihail’s chicken color variants are included in the swap chance. Yummy diversity.
If you want your live chickens to be consistent with the dead ones, I recommend (these are not required):
Mihail’s Chicken Replacer
Mihail’s More Chicken Variants
You can modify the swap % chance as you see fit by editing the included “_SWAP.ini” text file. Simply follow the very easy instructions included in the file to change it to any other (0-100) value. For example, if you find the vanilla dead pheasants immersion-breaking—because there are no live pheasants in the vanilla game—you can change the swap chance to 100% to turn them all into chickens.
The Benefits of BOS Distribution:
- The use of BOS allows for seamless integration that requires no patching, no matter your modlist or load order. BOS is an SKSE framework that does not use unoptimized or constant scripts, so there is no additional performance cost.
- Not a single vanilla cell, exterior space, or object is touched/modified by this plugin, so it is relatively safe to add/remove at any time and will not conflict with anything no matter where you put it in your load order.
- Mihail’s dead chickens will be swapped into any location in your game where there are dead pheasants—meaning all vanilla and non-vanilla exterior spaces and interior cells are covered. It’s complete integration for your entire modlist (including new worlds and modded interiors), without the need for patches adding or editing manually-placed and potentially conflicting references.
If you’re looking for even more realism,
lore-friendly immersion, and seamless integration…
