Multiple noteworthy actors added to the upcoming Knuckles TV show

We’ve known for awhile now that a live-action Knuckles show was going to see release on Paramount+. While things have been rather quiet on the project, today brings us news on some of the actors who’ll be joining the series.

Along with Idris Elba reprising the role of Knuckles from the first and second Sonic the Hedgehog movies, we now know that Cary Elwes, Stockard Channing, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel will all play roles as well. Specifics on the characters they’ll be portraying have not been shared.

We previously shared that Adam Pally (“Happy Endings,” “The Mindy Project”) will also be making a return to once again play Wade Whipple from the film franchise. Also following from the films is Tika Sumpter, reprising the role of Maddie.

Outside of that duo, Edi Patterson (“The Righteous Gemstones”), Julian Barratt (“Mindhorn”), Scott Mescudi (“Don’t Look Up”), and Ellie Taylor (“Ted Lasso”) will appear in the series, while Rory McCann (“Game of Thrones”) will guest star.

Knuckles takes place between the events of “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” and “Sonic the Hedgehog 3,” which is slated to hit theaters Dec. 20, 2024. In this show, Knuckles “agrees to train Wade as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.”
