USC: Counterforce is a top-down turn-based tactics game that plays like a blend of X-Com and Aliens.
Drawing inspiration from X-Com, Space Hulk and Aliens, USC: Counterforce feels very much like you’re commanding a squad of (Aliens’) Colonial Marines in a turn-based tactics game. In the game you command a strike team of commandos who have been sent to neutralize an unidentified alien threat. But you discover something that may change the cause of history.
The turn-based combat in USC: Counterforce is similar to X-Com, with you able to move and attack with each character. You can also use the environment to your advantage, with you able to build barricades, seal airlocks and trigger chain reactions. Your soldiers can also be equipped with attributes, skills and weapons to allow them to fulfil different roles in the squad.
