Boundary Break compares the American and Japanese releases of Super Mario RPG

Just a few weeks back, Nintendo revealed that the beloved SNES title Super Mario RPG is getting a remake for the Switch. Fans are incredibly eager to see how the revamp shapes up to the original, and are also curious to see what’s going to be changed, tweaked, or removed altogether.

While we wait for Super Mario RPG’s arrival on Switch, why not take a look back at the game that started it all?

The gang at Boundary Break had taken a deep dive into Super Mario RPG on both the Super Nintendo and Super Famicom. While the games certainly are similar, there’s actually a surprising amount of differences between the two. From tweaked dialog to changed sprites, there’s no doubt some adjustments you never even knew existed.
