TRAX – This Chaos Engine inspiration looks incredible on the Atari XL/XE! (WIP)

The original Chaos Engine was an incredible game released in 1993, and developed by the very famous Bitmap Brothers. It was a well known title that at its core, was for the Amiga in which one or two players battled in a top down shooter genre against the evil creations of the titular Chaos Engine. With four landscapes to traverse and weapons to use it was an extremely popular game on any system. But today’s news is very interesting for fans of the game, as Saberman has shown off some brand new footage of Shanti77’s Chaos Inspiration called TRAX for the Atari XL/XE!

Although it’s still very early days and we are unsure if this is going to be turned into a full game at any point soon. The developer has noted regarding developments, that it features different enemies to defeat, items to pick up, keys to collect, decent sound effects, 3 new levels, improved AI, a new cannon, and all of this developed with an engine that can display up to 8 software sprites in 25 fps. So yes certainly one that all Atari XL/XE owners should keep an eye out for when it gets an eventual public release!
