Octopus Deluxe – A graphically superior version of the 1981 Game and Watch Handheld game for the Amstrad CPC 6128!

The 1980’s Game and Watch Handheld throw backs just keep on coming, especially with a multitude of games released harking back to that great era with games such as Donkey Kong Jr Game and Watch, Parachute, Fire, Baby Monkey Alba, and yes even Hayesmaker’s rather cool Mario’s Cement Factory for the C64! Well todays news is pretty special for the Amstrad community, as thanks to yet another heads up by Saberman and XeNoMoRPH, they have told us that Team Galaxy has released a graphically superior version of the 1981 game Octopus for the Amstrad CPC 6128.

Here is what the Facebook page says about the game “In July 2023, we offered you an Amstrad GX4000 version of Octopus. Our goal was then to make the conversion of the famous Nintendo Game & Watch as faithful as possible. This September 13, 2023, two months later, Team Galaxy is proud to present its new baby, namely Octopus Deluxe! Freeing itself from the original liquid crystal display, this opus dedicated to the Amstrad CPC 6128 now benefits from a colorful palette deployed on revisited and new graphics. The sometimes tricky difficulty of the original G&W has also been readjusted, and it is now possible to save your scores. On the cover side, the game also benefits from an animated introduction, different music, as well as screens punctuating the different events (Game Over, Victory, etc.)”.
