The FriendShip surpasses 3 million explorers

Total Mayhem Games has announced that over three million players jumped in for some co-op action to collect the We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip achievements last weekend, following its surprise launch on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One last week.

“We are blown away by not just the community’s response, but the response of the industry as a whole to the surprise launch of our newest project, We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip,” executive producer Geoff van den Ouden said in the press release. “The game is a token of appreciation to all the Explorers who have supported us this far as well as a great ride for newcomers to jump onto. This first weekend we welcomed 3 million Explorers onto ‘The FriendShip’, surpassing all our biggest expectations!”

We Were Here Expeditions: The Friendship offers the same co-op puzzle gameplay found in the mainline series entries, as well as cross-play with PlayStation and PC and communication via the game’s fames walkie-talkies, but comes in a bite-size package that only takes a few hours to complete. The Expeditions format focuses on giving each player a unique role when solving puzzles, testing your ability to communicate and work as a team.

If you fancy hopping in for some fun now, We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip is available via a free ten-hour trial on the Xbox Store until October 14, or you can purchase the full game for £2.99 / $ 3.99 / €3.99. It looks to be a pretty quick completion, which our estimates say will take around two or three hours to unlock all of the achievements, so you’ll have more than enough time to finish it before the end of the trial.
