Alone in the Dark trailer offers seven minutes of horror gameplay
Monsters lurking in the shadows? Check. Ammo resupplies proving to be less reliable than a McDonalds McFlurry machine? Check. The new Alone in the Dark gameplay trailer offers up plenty of atmospheric tension during its short seven-minute runtime, exactly what we would hope to see from the game. After PI Edward Carnby (David Harbour) and Emily Hartwood (Jodie Comer) receive a mysterious letter, they head to the Derceto Manor to find the titular Jeremy and investigate the mysterious happenings taking place there.
Looking at the trailer, the reboot certainly shows promise, and with the additional development time Pieces Interactive has due to Alone in the Dark’s delay, we have high hopes that this entry into the series can bring it back into the limelight.
Alone in the Dark will offer two different perspectives, depending on whether you’re playing as Emily or Edward, which could make for an interesting reason to play through the game twice, so we wouldn’t be overly surprised if the Alone in the Dark achievements require two playthroughs.
Will it have what it takes to make it onto our list of the best Xbox horror games? We’ll have to wait until January 16 to find out!
