The worst kept secret ever, Baldur’s Gate 3 is now available to play on Xbox Series X|S.
Officially unveailed during The Game Awards, pretty much anyone and everyone knew that Larian Studios’ all-conquering Baldur’s gate 3 would launch on Microsoft’s finest. And that is indeed the case. What are you waiting for? Get a download moving.
We were so confident that Baldur’s Gate 3 would launch today that a couple of weeks back we announced it as one of the best games to keep an eye on through December 2023. We could have looked stupid. Or…
Anyways, having nabbed a 96 Metascore elsewhere, Baldur’s Gate 3 is now on Xbox Series X|S. It joins previous PlayStation 5 and PC drops. It includes Patch 5, its latest patch, which adds in two new game modes: Honour, and Custom. This content drop also expanded upon the game’s ending, adding a playable epilogue that’s different for players depending on the choices they’ve made throughout their own, personal adventure.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is now on Xbox
In Baldur’s Gate 3 you get to choose from 12 classes and 11 races from the D&D Player’s Handbook and create your own identity, or play as an Origin hero with a hand-crafted background. Whoever you choose to be, adventure, loot, battle and romance your way across the Forgotten Realms and beyond. Gather your party. Take the adventure online as a party of up to four.
As of today, Xbox players will be able to enjoy the entire, complete experience with the benefit of every patch since launch, both perfecting and improving the game. Players on Xbox Series X can avail of split-screen co-op, where players on Series S are able to play cooperatively online.
Baldur’s Gate 3, through Larian’s own accounts system, features cross-platform save-progression, so any player who has started the game on another platform will be able to continue their adventure on Xbox, if they purchase the game for the platform, and sign up for a free Larian account.
