Game of the Year 2023: Round 11 – Street Fighter 6 vs Amnesia: The Bunker
This time, it’s Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 taking on Frictional Games’ horror game Amnesia: The Bunker. Release-wise, things are pretty fair here, as both games came out within a few days of each other. Amnesia: The Bunker does have a bit of an advantage in that it joined Xbox Game Pass as a day-one addition, and TrueAchievements shows almost 10,000 more players when compared to Street Fighter 6. However, Street Fighter 6 didn’t necessarily need that Game Pass boost. It was already one of the best-reviewed Xbox games of 2023 before its launch in June, and it picked up a few nominations at The Game Awards 2023, including a win for Best Fighting Game. It’ll be interesting to see which one takes the prize here.
To keep things as fair as possible, AAA games in this tournament will go into the top bracket with smaller indie games in a second tier. As always, this tournament is meant as a fun way of kicking off discussions about this year’s best Xbox games, and we’ll still have the more traditional TA GOTY vote towards the end of the year.

Amnesia: The Bunker
Amnesia: The Bunker is a first-person horror game from the makers of SOMA and Amnesia. Left all alone in a desolate WW1 bunker with only one bullet remaining in the barrel, it’s up to you to face the oppressing terrors in the dark. Keep the lights on at all costs, persevere, and make your way out alive. A truly intense horror experience.
