Rocket Arena servers closing in 2024, discontinuing all Xbox achievements
In an announcement on EA’s website, Final Strike said, “It’s with a heavy heart from all of us at FSG and EA to inform you that Rocket Arena will be sunset and the servers shut down on March 21, 2024, 12 pm PDT.
“We can’t thank you all enough for playing Rocket Arena and supporting us during this journey. We’re thrilled that people from all around the world got to enjoy Rocket Arena for three and a half years since it launched in July of 2020. Since then, there’s been a ton of Knockouts, Megablasts, Rocketball goals, Mega Rockets captured, and coins collected. We’ve been consistently blown away by the kindness, care, and camaraderie that’s been shown from the Rocket Arena community.”
As Rocket Arena is an online-only game, all of the Rocket Arena achievements will be discontinued when the server closure hits on March 21. According to estimates, a completion will take around 60 hours, with most of that time being spent grinding out level-based achievements. Thankfully, Final Strike says it is “increasing XP from match time” which should make the grind a little easier. It will also be running Sunset Community Events in Rocket Arena up until the game’s shutdown.
Sadly, Rocket Arena has already been delisted from the Xbox store, so if you do want to go for the 1,000G and don’t on the multiplayer shooter digitally, you’ll have to find a physical copy.
As for other server closures, Ubisoft just announced that it’s shutting down The Crew next year. There are also four planned server shutdowns for January.
