It is still the 28th Series in Forza Horizon 5 and it is still Winter in Mexico. However, it’s almost Christmas, so I’d like to wish you all some happy holidays.

Week 3 of Series 28 sees even more racing, stunting and general shenanigans to take part in, so hold on tight, I’m going to show you what is what and hopefully the cars you need for the various jobs.

Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – For the Drivers

The weekly challenge car for Series 28 – Winter 3 is the Lotus 3-Eleven, the epitome of Colin Chapman’s motto of “Simplify and add lightness”, surely?

In the real world, only 311 of these cars were made, but luckily in virtual Mexico there are a lot more.

Should you not have one in your garage, the Autoshow will let you swap 150,000 of your finest credits for one. It is also the prize for completing the Trial, so swings and roundabouts!

Chapter 1 – These go to Eleven

A Spinal Tap quote is always welcome!

Get in your new car, take it for a spin. Step one complete!

Chapter 2 – Helmet is Advised

With no windscreen, going equipped with a helmet is a good piece of advice. Avoid wasps to the face and drive five whole miles now in the car.

Chapter 3 – Fasterpiece

Simply go and spend 11,000 credits on upgrades to the car, to mimic the fact that it could be bought in either road or track versions.

I’ve done the work for you, and the share code for mine is : 113867282.

Chapter 4 – Track Record

Now we simply need to go out and beat any Rivals Ghost. Choose your best track and have a go!

Complete these tasks and we will be five points closer to the seasonal prizes!

Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts

So, with the weekly challenge done and dusted, let’s dive into the rest of the mayhem on offer, shall we?

Only two eventlabs this week, so normal service is resumed. But there’s other stuff in place to go alongside those…

The Trial – Settling Scores

The score in question this time is between BMW and Mercedes, as we need either an M Sport car or an AMG one.

The class is A Class 800, and so, in keeping with last week, I chose a BMW M3 GTR, and the share code is : 198385025.

Should we manage to win two out of three races in The Trial, a Lotus 3-Eleven is ours, the very one we need for the weekly car challenge.

Eventlab 1 – PETROLHEAD55823 Presents – Cabo Snow Xmas Circuit

We need a Hot hatch for this event, and it needs to be B Class 700. I chose a Renault Clio R.S. EDC, and the share code for mine is : 262870774.

A very festive track that is fun to drive, but a word of advice – slow down for the corners, as the track appears to have been coated in teflon!

The prize for completing this race is a Gingerbread outfit. Can it tempt me away from the dinosaur suit for Xmas? Well…

Eventlab 2 – M1K3G3TZ Presents – M1K3G3TZ Wishes Feliz Navidad

Now I’ve got that song in my head!

We need an Unlimited Off Road or a Buggy for this race, and it needs to be A Class 800. Jeep Trailcat, anyone? Share code for mine is : 118411445.

Slippy and slidey, this track is a lot fun with many powerslides and tricky corners.

Take away a Super Wheelspin for completing this one.

PR Stunt 1 –  Speed Trap – Avienda

Each PR Stunt needs a different car this week, just for a change. This one needs a C Class 600 Fiat 124 Spider, and the target is 125 mph. Bit high for an old car! The share name for mine is “SpiderC”.

Approach from the south and keep in as straight a line as possible for best results.

We get a Super Wheelspin in return though. Yep, another week, more Super Wheelspins.

PR Stunt 2 -Speed Zone – Camino Del Cielo

This time the car we need is an B Class MR2 from 1989. Look for share name “MR2 -89”.

We need to average over 103 mph through the zone, which is a lot easier said than done, and also oddly specific. Approaching from the west is a tad easier but there are some scary bends either way

Another Super Wheelspin awaits.

PR Stunt 3 – Trailblazer – Quebrada

A VW Golf R from 2014, a tuning limit of A Class 800, and a time restriction of more than 30 seconds left on the clock make this a challenge.

The share name for mine is “GolfR” with my GT, Red620Ti.

Yet another Super Wheelspin awaits. I have used all the unspun wheelspins and gifted all the cars I received to try and win the Secret Santa cars. I urge you to do the same!

Seasonal Championship 1 – Ice, Ice Fairlady

We need to use a Nissan Z for this race, and the tuning limit is A Class 800. I chose a Fairlady Z from 2003 (called a 350Z here) and the share name is “350Z”.

For winning out, we can take home a Honda Civic. Better than a wheelspin, or a poke in the eye!

Seasonal Championship 2 – Merry NSXmas

Can you guess what car we need to use this time? Yes, it’s a Honda NSX, and the tune limit is S1 Class 900. Should be nippy enough! I chose the 2005 NSX-R Gt as my weapon of choice.

Look for share name “NSXmas” for my take on this iconic car, and the GT is Red620Ti.

Should we win out, a Porsche 911 GT3 from 2004 will be a nice thing to take home..

Seasonal Championship 3 – Feeling Santamental

Not sure how many more puns I can take!

We need a Classic Muscle car, tuned to C Class 600, and of the huge choice, I went with a Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport Coupe from 1969. Share code : 111544579.

For winning out, a Ford Raptor ‘11 will be the take away.

Part 3: Other Challenges

There’s always more to get involved in than just the racing, and that is the case again this week with Series 28 Winter: Part 3.

There’s the Photo Challenge, and a Treasure Hunt, and even a spot of Playground games. Lots to do! And don’t forget the Horizon Open challenge too…

Photo Challenge – #SLEIGHINGIT

We have to photograph a Morgan car, any Morgan car, at the Winter Wonderland Stadium. Easy enough, yeah?

See up top for my artistic effort, and below for the location.

The reward? A new Forzalink phrase, “Ho Ho Ho”.

Treasure Hunt – Rebel Without a Clause

The clue this week reads “First find Rebel in the name, then cause wreckage for the game!”.

The picture is an AMC Rebel, so I assume this the car we need, and we need to smash stuff up. Luckily, this is my super power in FH5, crashing into stuff, so it was pretty straightforward.

See below for pictures of the location of the treasure chest we earn, which contains 100FP.

Playground Games – Sleigh-Vival of the Quickest

Good grief, more puns.

We need an Extreme-E car for this, in an A Class 800 flavour, and just pick whichever you fancy as stock trim is fine. I like the No.44 personally.

We are going to play Survival, so stay away from those Zombies!

Win or lose, we can take home a “Merry Christmas” car horn.

Horizon Open Racing – Scout’s Honour

As you may have surmised from the title, we need to complete a Race series in an International Scout vehicle from 17970. Could be any class, so I can’t help you there, but do your best.

The prize is a Forzalink phrase, “Merry Christmas”

Part 4: Hot Wheels Events

If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.

Seasonal PR Stunt – Danger sign – Canyon Jump

For this event, it is a Toyota GR Supra that gets the nod, and the tuning limit is S1 Class 9800. Look for share name “GRS1”.

This time we need to leap over 380m, and a good run up is required. Approaching from the west seems to give the best results, but there aren’t any straight run ups to the ramp, sadly.

A Super Wheelspin is your reward.

Seasonal Championship – Modern Solutions

This week, it is a Modern Muscle car that we need to use for this bunch of races, and that means it is time for the old faithful Shelby GT500 from 2020, and the share code for mine is : 335181307.

Completing the championship will get us a Holden Monaro which is nice.

Part 5: Rally Adventure Events

The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to the following couple of events…

Seasonal PR Stunt -Speed Trap – Orogrande Rush

The restriction here is a Ford Escort ‘73 and a tuning limit of B Class 700.. Look for share name 73Escort with my GT, Red620Ti.

We need to hit the trap at over 110 mph, approaching from the north seems easier.

The prize is another Super Wheelspin. Sigh.

Seasonal Championship – Get to Grits

A series of off road races, and a Porsche tuned to A Class 800 is the steed of choice. Ideal bedfellows, no?

I used the Macan LPR Rally Raid, which sounds like just the job, and the share name is Macan. With a 7.2 litre V8 and over 900 BHP, what could go wrong?

For winning out, we can take away a Ford Coupe from 1940

With Series 28 at the halfway point, it’s getting exciting in terms of the reward cars for the season – a Porsche MissionR for 80 points, and a Koenigsegg Agera for 160.

There are also two cars as an extra bonus to aim at, with gifts being sent the key. The first is an exclusive GMA T.50, and the second is also exclusive, but a secret for now. Get sending gifts! We have already sent enough to receive the first car (check the Gifts tab under messages) and the second will soon be revealed. I feel certain. The bar for global gifts sent is almost full, so keep sending presents. It is Christmas after all!

If you need a few extra points to get you over the line, the monthly Rivals challenges are here; Marigold Sprint for proper cars, as well as the new Winter Wonderland Circuit. Stick some clean laps in. 4 points are on offer if you return clean laps for each one, so worth having a go at!

Grab enough points and Series 28 Winter: Part 3 (remember, every season is Winter this time around) also sees you given access to the exclusive Subaru BRZ ‘22 for 20 points. Additionally, for 40 points we can get a #70 Porsche 935.

Stick around if you need guides to the rest of the Series, as it is revealed each Thursday I’ll do my best to keep you abreast of what you need and what you need to do. All we have left in this confusing Series 28 – Winter season is Part 4.

To enjoy these events in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5. It’s available on Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.

Let us know in the comments if I have helped, hindered or missed the mark with these tunes.
