Pure Nintendo Podcast E41 | It’s the end of E3! Plus our Nintendo years in review
This week on the Pure Nintendo Podcast, Jemma, Kirk, and Trev talk about the recent news from ESA that E3 is over forever. We also talk about our Nintendo Switch years in review, plus Zelda news, games we’re playing, an updated free trial, and more.
Last week, we discussed the Game Awards winners and announcements. This week, we’ve been dealt the blow of hearing that E3 is permanently over. Is this news surprising? This year’s event was cancelled, and the last live edition was way back in 2019. We give our thoughts, as well as our favorite memories of the long-running expo.
’tis the season! Nintendo has distributed its annual wrap-up of games we’ve been playing, and we talk about the games that made our lists. Which one took out the top spot? Which months were our busiest? How many games did we play? We go through it all.
Meanwhile, a recent interview with the head of The Legend of Zelda franchise Aonuma spoke about his thoughts on old and new Zelda styles. This sparks a discussion on the traditional linear style of games vs the newer open-world experiences like Tears of the Kingdom.
We also discuss the games we’ve been playing, from Mario Kart and EA Sports FC 24 to Astlibra Revision and Pikmin 4. Let us know what you’re playing lately!
