How, where, and when to watch

It’s almost time for Xbox’s Developer Direct. It’s the first big event of the year, and promises a look at a number of big upcoming releases and upcoming Game Pass games. We’ll post a reminder closer to the time too, but for now, let’s get into when it’ll take place and what will and could be shown during the event.

When is the Xbox Developer Direct?

The Xbox Developer Direct is scheduled for January 18 at 12pm PT / 3pm ET / 8pm GMT.

ZeniMax Online Studios will also have its own global reveal of The Elder Scrolls Online 2024 after Developer Direct, at 1pm PT / 4pm ET / 9pm GMT.

What can we expect from the Xbox Developer Direct?

We already know several big games which will be shown: MachineGames’ Indiana Jones game, Obsidian’s Avowed, Oxide Games’ Ara: History Untold, and Ninja Theory’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. MachineGames could be gearing up for a full reveal — last week, the official Indiana Jones Xbox game name seemingly leaked. We’re hoping to see a lot more at Developer Direct, and have already outlined the top 3 things we want to see from the Indiana Jones Xbox game.

The Xbox team has already confirmed that the event won’t feature updates on Activision Blizzard games, which we’ll hear more about later in 2024 instead. There’s usually a good surprise or two in events like this, and Xbox definitely has a lot of other upcoming games we could hear about — there’s every upcoming Xbox exclusive game for 2024 and beyond to think about, after all.
