Episode 77
The original Metroid was one of the most popular games on the NES, selling over 2.7 million copies – Enough to make it the 18th best selling game on the system! You’d think that Nintendo would want to get started on a sequel to such a successful game right away… but for some reason, they didn’t.
Instead we had to wait FIVE YEARS for a sequel, and when Samus finally did return, she was battling Metroids on the Game Boy. This new adventure on the small screen was absolutely canon, and included everything you’d expect from a sequel! Samus has a new mission – Eliminate all of the Metroids on their home world, the planet SR388. She’ll also find a ton of new weapons and accessories to add to her ever growing arsenal. This game features the first appearance of many franchise staples, like Morph Ball upgrades and the Space Jump!
So how did Samus find her way on to the Game Boy? In today’s episode we’ll find out, then we’ll dive deep into the gameplay where we’ll learn:
* Where to find EVERY hidden ITEM and UPGRADE!
* The best way to get through ALL NINE PHASES!
* The location of EVERY METROID, plus strategies for fighting them!
* Where to find ALL 22 MISSILE UPGRADES!
* Detailed MAPS for every area reveal where everything is hidden!
* How to access SECRET SHORCUTS that can get you into advanced areas early!
* Strengths and weaknesses of all four BEAM UPGRADES!
* Where to find HIDDEN WORLDS filled with glitched monsters and unique rooms!
* How to get ALL THREE different ENDINGS… AND MORE!
