Sea of Thieves reduces Season 11 Xbox achievements to 0G, releases new list

It appears that Rare has been tinkering with the Sea of Thieves achievements. New achievements that were previously added in Season 11 have now had their requirements and Gamerscore values drastically altered, and a new, identical set of Season 11 achievements has now been pushed to the Xbox Network.Last month, Rare added six new achievements to Sea of Thieves with the start of Season 11. These achievements were for completing tutorial voyages, earning a distinction in a trading company, and using the new fast travel feature to complete voyages. Each achievement was worth 40 Gamerscore, but now, these achievements have been updated, and you may have noticed that your Gamerscore total has gone down as a result.

The original Season 11 achievements, which you may have already unlocked, are now worth 0G each. You’ll also find that the requirements for each achievement have been changed to a rather generic “Pay a visit to ‘x’ outpost.”

Strangely, Rare has also released the original set of Season 11 achievements again (which we have merged with the 0G achievement list to keep things simple). The achievements have the same names, the same requirements, and the same Gamerscore values as previous, which means that the total Gamerscore for Sea of Thieves remains unchanged at 5,210G.

We’re not exactly sure what is going on here, but from what we can tell, Rare had some sort of issue with the Sea of Thieves achievements randomly unlocking not long after the Season 11 launch. The developer had to disable achievements for all players and only recently lifted that suspension for all but the Season 11 achievements added in January. An in-game warning in Sea of Thieves says that progress for achievements is still being tracked, so hopefully, you won’t need to go back and complete the same achievements all over again.

Have you noticed a dip in your total Gamerscore with these changes? Let us know down in the comments.
