NBA 2K24 will leave Xbox Game Pass after just six months

Game Pass subscribers don’t have long to pop all of the NBA 2K24 achievements as 2K Games has now revealed that NBA 2K24 is leaving Xbox Game Pass in August. While the basketball sim is a far cry from one of the best Xbox sports games, Game Pass members who are interested in NBA 2K24 will sadly have a little less than six months to play this one before it’s ejected from the service.

NBA 2K24 to leave Xbox Game Pass on August 31, 2024

As per an image posted by the official NBA 2K Twitter account, NBA 2K24 will leave Xbox Game Pass on August 31, 2024. The fine print on the image reads, “Available to Game Pass subscribers only through August 31, 2024. Terms apply. Notice before purchase of add-ons, DLC, consumables, virtual currency, or subscriptions: If your membership terminates or after the game is removed from the catalog on August 31, 2024, you must reactivate your membership or buy the game separately to continue using these items.”

NBA 2K games don’t tend to stay in Game Pass for long, so this probably won’t come as too much of a surprise to fans of the series. Previously, NBA 2K20 and NBA 2K21 stayed in Game Pass for around six months, whereas NBA 2K22 only stuck around for four months. All of these games were removed in August, just before a new iteration of the basketball sim was released.

If you are thinking of going for the completion, be warned it’s going to be tough. Just four TA members have managed the 1,000G, and it’s taken them hundreds of hours. If you’re a glutton for punishment, you might want to take on the NBA 2K24 (Xbox One) stack, which has five more achievements than the Series X|S version.

Speaking of games leaving Game Pass, Microsoft recently confirmed that one of the games down to leave Xbox Game Pass in March will remain on Game Pass for the foreseeable.
