TA Playlist game for April 2024 announced
The last few months of TA Playlist have featured some big, open-world AAA games. However, good games come in all sizes, so we decided that April’s poll should focus on some shorter but still highly-rated Xbox Game Pass offerings from the ID@Xbox program. These “bite-sized indie gems” included INSIDE, Firewatch, TOEM, but those three quickly fell behind as one game flew to the top of the poll and emerged victorious. Your TA Playlist Game of the Month for April 2024 is… Cocoon!
Cocoon is a beautiful puzzle game developed by Geometric Interactive and published by Annapurna Interactive. The game was released in September 2023 and immediately received high critical praise for its detailed and varied environments and thought-provoking puzzles. It won “Best Debut Indie Game” at the 2023 Game Awards and is currently featured on our list of the best Game Pass games.
Cocoon is a unique take on the puzzle adventure genre, where each world exists within an orb that you can carry on your back. Interact with alien environments and biomechanical devices left behind by an ancient civilization. Journey through unique and diverse biomes, from industrial structures to massive organic caverns, and discover how they are connected to one another. Wrap your head around the core mechanic of leaping between worlds—and combine, manipulate, and rearrange them to solve intricate puzzles. Master world-leaping mechanics to unravel a cosmic mystery.
Cocoon has a current TA community rating of 4.21/5.00. Nearly 55,000 tracked users have started the game, with almost 13,500 (25%) getting the full completion. It’s estimated that it will take 4-5 hours to unlock all 17 of the game’s achievements, and our Cocoon Walkthrough by nuxx au is available to help you if you get stuck and make sure you grab all the collectibles.
Here’s the full breakdown of the votes. It pretty quickly became a two-person race between Cocoon and Firewatch, but after Cocoon jumped out to an early 100-vote lead, Firewatch was never able to close the gap.
