PlayStation Trophies are coming to PC with Ghost of Tsushima being first in line – WGB

As part of Sony’s plans to expand further into the PC gaming market, the company has announced that PlayStation Trophies are coming to PC courtesy of a new PlayStation Overlay, starting with the excellent Ghost of Tsushima.

The news was kept rather lowkey, though, inside a PlayStation Blog post detailing Ghost of Tsushima’s system requirements and crossplay functionality.

“Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is the first PlayStation title on PC that uses a new PlayStation overlay, which includes your Friends list, Trophies, Settings, and your Profile.” reads the blog post.

The new overlay will be accessible by pressing Shift+F1.

“While playing the game, you can earn PlayStation Trophies just like on PlayStation consoles. Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PC shares the same Trophy set as the game on PlayStation 5 consoles”

Interestingly, the blog post also notes that the PC version and the console versions of Ghost of Tsushima won’t be treated as separate games in terms of Trophies. In other words, if you choose to connect your existing PlayStation account, any trophies you’ve earned in the console version will automatically unlock on the PC version and vice-versa.

Steam and Epic Games Store achievements are fully supported, too.

As the first game to fully support Trophies on PC Ghost of Tsushima is leading the charge and presumably all PlayStation games on PC from now on will also feature Trophy support. The big question will be whether Sony will go back and add Trophy support to its other existing titles such as Helldivers 2, Horizon: Forbidden West and so on.

Putting aside the Trophies, the blog post went into detail about some of the crossplay features that Ghost of Tsushima will have. PS4, PS5 and PC players will all be able to team-up for the co-operative Legends mode.

Finally, the system requirements for Ghost of Tsushima were also announced and they aren’t too heavy so a wide audience should be able to enjoy the action.
