Songs of Conquest is coming to Xbox and PlayStation

Seen Songs of Conquest on PC but want to play it on your Xbox or PlayStation? Hold tight – it’s coming.

Today sees the launch of Songs of Conquest in full on PC, ditching the Early Access moniker and going all in as the spiritual success to the Heroes of Might and Magic. Created by those at Lavapotion and pushed to the world by Coffee Stain Publishing (they behind Deep Rock Galactic and more), this is a game that brings forth 2.5D pixel art, strategic gameplay, immersive music and a deep story – one that should suit any fantasy fan.

Now on PC

It’s gone down pretty damn well on Steam too, picking up a ‘Very Positive’ review rating across a good few thousand players. For its full launch comes the introduction of numerous enhancements and improvements, alongside a brand new fully-fledged campaign exploring the mercantile Barya faction.

Songs of Conquest follows in the footsteps of genre legends such as the Heroes of Might and Magic and Age of Wonders series, blending strategic gameplay and kingdom management (hopefully not like that found in Royal Roads 3) with vibrant pixel graphics. From gallant knights and gold-loving merchants to swamp creatures and necromancers, there are 4 unique factions to discover throughout the game, each with their own challenges to overcome, strategies to learn, and stories to tell.

The new campaign releasing alongside the 1.0 launch is the fourth single player story campaign in Songs of Conquest, exploring the rich lore of the Barya faction. Players will step into the shoes of Bihgli Satherdown, an ambitious Wielder, on his journey of discovery across the sandy dunes and rugged landscape of Barya.

And it’s that which will be present as Songs of Conquest lands on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 this Fall. Further details are set to follow – we’ll bring you them as they land.

Key features

For now, the key features of Songs of Conquest on PC include:

  • New single player campaign for the Barony of Loth faction
  • Rework of the existing faction campaigns
  • Improvements to the enemy AI across the board
  • Introduction of simultaneous turns and improvements to siege battles
  • Full gamepad support & Steam Deck verification
  • Addition of the random map generator and challenge maps
  • Improvements to mod and user-generate map content

“Today’s 1.0 launch is the culmination of years of hard work, and we’re so incredibly proud of how far Songs of Conquest has come,” said Carl Toftfelt, Lead Game Designer at Lavapotion. “We’ve always had high ambitions for our game, but the incredible passion of our amazing community these past 2 years from the Early Access launch has pushed us to make it even better than we could have imagined.”

“We don’t want anyone to miss out on the adventure either, so we’re thrilled to be able to bring Songs of Conquest to Playstation and Xbox consoles later this year too!” added Magnus Alm, CEO and co-founder of Lavapotion. “This is something our playerbase has been requesting for a while now, so it’s great to finally make it a reality.”

Coming soon to Xbox and PlayStation!

Songs of Conquest is now on Steam, Epic and GOG. It’ll be coming to Xbox and PlayStation soon.
