Schim Walkthrough – All Collectibles Guide
Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for Schim.
This walkthrough is presently based on the game’s 2024 demo. It will be updated to cover the full game when the full game releases.

Level 1
Before starting this level of Schim proper, consider grabbing the object in the vicinity.
The Object here is a water bottle, and it is located right near where you start the level. Jump to the SUV’s shadow, then to the lamppost. From here, jump to the bollard that’s rocking back and forth. From there, make for the garbage can.
You’ll find the water bottle in its shadow.
After that, return to the SUV and proceed along the street, until the boy runs far ahead. Jump across shadows and use the ‘springboard’ to get to the boy’s shadow.
Follow the on-screen instructions until the boy and the woman invite you to a backyard barbecue party through an alley.
Level 2
As the objective shows, go to the trampoline in a corner of the backyard. Interact with the trampoline a few times and the barbeque will end up on fire.
Run to the firehose near the alley you entered from, and interact with the hose. Then, run toward the fire and use your hose to extinguish the fire.
After running a bit more, a woman (presumably the boy’s mother) will arrive with a tricycle. Head to her, i.e. to where you started this level.
Level 3
The boy’s got a tricycle! Drive toward the street and then continue along the sidewalk to get to the boy’s mother.
Level 4
You’re disconnected from the boy’s shadow space again, so make your way along the sidewalk jumping from shadow to shadow.
Along the way, you’ll find an Object with a missing schim. This object is an orange beach ball. From the barbecue grill, proceed to the orange beach ball and run into it to restore it.
Proceed to the clothesline and then simply continue along the sidewalk until you get to the boy’s shadow.
Level 5
You can’t rotate the camera in this level of Schim, and you’ll see why as you go. Continue along the sidewalk until you get to a traffic crossing.
Jump to the lamppost’s shadow, then the traffic signal. Interact with the traffic signal to switch the light to green.
From here, you can access the first Object of the level: the Schoolbag.
Return to the boy’s shadow space and proceed along the sidewalk.
The boy gets a bit older, but continue running along until you encounter a train. Once the train passes, hop onto the shadow of the gate arm and interact with it to lift it, clearing the way for the boy.
Before moving on, we can collect another Object here, which is a Trough. From the railway crossing, jump onto the electrical panel shadows and then the tree to the southeast. Continue to a fence, and follow the fence until you get to a trough next to a dozing sheep.
Return to the boy’s shadow and proceed along the sidewalk. You can’t jump off the shadow during the next section on the bike, so continue until our boy gets to university.
Proceed either into the university or past it – it doesn’t seem to matter. Proceed along the sidewalk until our boy is dejected in purple hues.
You can get another Object here, which is a Box of Chocolates.
Go towards the benches now and stand at the very rightmost edge of the fence. As the shadow, jump onto the tree’s shadow and proceed to the northeast to get the box of chocolates.
Return to the boy, who’s now a graduate. You can now proceed along the sidewalk to complete this level, or take your time and explore each of the sections to glean more about the boy’s life.
By the end of this level, our boy’s a proper man.
Level 6
Park your bike at the bike stand.
You can pick up an Object here, which is an Office Chair. On the sidewalk, go past the building entrance until you can’t walk anymore. Use your ‘look’ controls to look farther along the sidewalk to find a red office chair.
Jump onto the tree’s shadow, then the dumpster’s shadow, and then the next tree’s shadow, where you’ll find the red office chair.
Enter the office building once you’ve got the chair, and a cutscene follows. Interact when the phone rings to proceed with another cutscene.
Next, make your way towards the bike stand to end this level.
Level 7
You can only move in one direction here at first. After the schim is disconnected, you can pick up the one Object in this level: a Helmet.
Simply make your way to the alley between the buildings and rummage around in the shadow there until you find the helmet. You can use the camera controls to get a better sense of where it is.
Now, make your way toward the man, and jump into the shadows of the construction workers.
Proceed into the shadows of the two women with the shopping bags to end this level.
Level 8
There’s two objects in this level of Schim, and our target is a person on a scooter.
The first object is a beach chair, and it lies in the opposite direction of the scooter.
From where you start, hop onto the springboard near the two female shoppers. Change your camera so that you will be launched in the direction opposite to where your objective is.
After finding refuge in the banner’s shadow, go toward the tree and then hitch a ride on a pedestrian to get onto the shadows of the round bollards.
Jump onto the shadow of the dumpster to find the beach chair.
Then, make your way to the springboard near the bollards and launch yourself back toward the female shoppers.
From here, you have a fairly straightforward path toward the fountain at the end of this street.
Before moving on toward the scooter, be sure to grab the second object, which is a postcard.
From the garbage containers near the fountain, make your way to the postcard rack. From there, continue to a stepladder, and you’ll find a postcard in the shadow.
Now simply return to the fountain and jump your way to the scooter at the end of the level.
Level 9
Our goal this time is to get to a couple with a baby stroller. However, we’ll have to take a detour to grab the sole Object in this level, which is a Teddybear.
Proceed along the river, jumping across the shadows of the trees, lampposts and benches. Stop when the baby stroller is in view.
Now instead of going toward the baby stroller, continue along the river, jumping on tree and lamppost shadows.
You’ll eventually come across a park. Head into the park and rotate the camera so that the shadows are toward the camera.
Continue past the fountain and you’ll find the brown teddybear to the relative south.
After this, backtrack all the way to the baby stroller to end this level.
Level 10
There’s 3 Objects in this level of Schim. Begin by going along the street until you come to a fork, with one street going alongside a canal.
This street has the first object in the level: the Container. To get to it, first continue along the riverside street and get onto the shadow of the lamppost.
Avoid the cars, and jump onto the shadow of the cyclist who turns into the street we want to go into.
Continue hitching a ride on the cyclist’s shadow and then jump towards the dumpster when he’s taking a turn away from the street.
You’ll find the golden container just behind the dumpster.
Now make your way back to the riverside street, using the ‘springboards’ to jump forward as you go.
Continue along the riverside street, past the lamppost and then get on the other side of the street, so that you are in the shadow of the umbrella.
Here, you’ll notice another street going along the canal. We need to go up this street to find Object 2: the Bucket.
From the umbrella shadow, jump onto the approaching cyclist’s shadow and then the tree’s shadow. From here, you should be able to continue up the canal street.
Once again use the cyclist’s shadow to leapfrog to the tree’s shadow, where you’ll find the bucket.
Now once again, make your way back to the riverside street.
Our third object is a Handbag at a bus stop next to the river.
Leapfrog across the vehicles to get to the bus stop and run into the golden handbag.
Now get to the other side of the street and make for the woman with the shopping cart to end this level.
Level 11
We have four objects in this level, which are easier to find than in most levels.
Start by going northeast from where you start (provided you haven’t changed the camera direction). You’ll come to a bridge you can’t cross. Here, look to a bench facing the river to find a cane. This is your Object 1.
Return to where you started and go over to another bench facing the river. From here, you can easily hitch a ride on a female jogger to enter the second area of this level.
In the playground, head to the large tree’s shadow and run into the schoolbag, which is Object 2.
Head over to the next bridge now and wait for a male jogger to come running in from the third area of the level. Jump into his shadow and then further into the tree’s shadow in the third area.
Go along the path now until you find a streetlight with a long shadow reaching toward the pond. Use it as a jumping-off point to get onto the lilypad shadows in the pond.
By jumping from here, you should easily be able to run into the trashcan in the pond and restore it as Object 3.
Now hitch a ride on a duck’s shadow and jump toward the bike in the pond, which becomes your Object 4.
Make your way back to the streetlight and then the trashcan that you salvaged. Hitch a ride on the woman with the smartphone who’s ambling on the bridge.
This takes you to the final area of this level. You might want to rotate the camera here and hitch a ride on the birds’ shadows until you get to the bird that takes you to the next level.
Level 12
In this level, your objective is a cat. Proceed along the street northwest (provided you did not change the camera direction) and keep going until you find some bollards at the corner of the street.
From here you can find the sole object in this level, which is a bike wheel. Take the bend in the street, i.e. to where the cars are turning, and hitch a ride on a car briefly to end up at a bike without a wheel.
Continue along the street from here and you’ll find the bike wheel next to an alley.
Now make your way back to the bollards by, say, hitching a ride on a pedestrian.
Then, go toward the girl dancing in the puddles and use the pedestrians in this area to get closer to the stacked chairs near the cat.
Finally, jump onto the cat to end this level.
Level 13
This level will mark the end of the demo of Schim. However, you can grab an object before closing the curtains!
Jump onto the bollards and then the tree next to the bus stop. Do not step into the bus stop shadow, or the demo will end.
Instead, turn your camera and go behind the low wall. Use another set of bollards and trees to get to the next low wall.
Here, keep going along the low wall until you find a ladder.
You can now return to the bus stop to close out the Schim demo.
