Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges Guide Series 36 – Summer

Cars and coffee, eh? Those are two of the things I like in real life, but now they have come to Forza Horizon 5 and Series 36 of the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges. Of course, in addition to a new area to hang out and meet up, there is going to be a plethora of new things to try and achieve with the launch of Forza Horizon 5’s Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 36, and especially Summer.

So here I am again, ready and hopefully able to provide the cars and tunes you need.

I take my coffee black, thanks, and anyone who puts oat milk in it should be condemned to a week driving around in a rusty old Beetle…

Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Real Open Sports

The Honda S2000 CR is the car in the spotlight this week, and with a screamin’ VTEC engine that revs to 9000 rpm, it should be a thrill a minute. Cue the “VTEC just kicked in, yo!” memes……

Should you not have one already, go and buy it from the Autoshow – they will exchange it for 25,000 of your credits. I also have an A Class tune ready, code : 294348066.

Chapter 1 – Club Racer

Get in your new car, take it for a spin.  Step one complete.

Chapter 2 – Moving on Up

Simply win the Volcan sprint race to complete the next step – as the car is apparently set up to race. The tune above will be fine.

Chapter 3 – Downforce Drifter

Now we need to slide a bit – enough to earn 2 Ultimate Drift or E-Drift skills. Kick that rear end out!

Chapter 4 – Loved but Limited

Now simply drive 5 miles in the car. Hit the highway!

Complete these tasks and we will be five points closer to the seasonal prizes that are up for grabs with Forza Horizon 5’s Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 36.

Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts

With the weekly challenge done and dusted, let’s dive into the rest of the mayhem on offer.

The Trial, three Eventlabs, PR Stunts, races, who could ask for more?

The Trial – Pista De Resistance

Time to play as a team. I know I say it every week, but hopefully sooner or later someone will notice…

We need a Renault or Alpine car, tuned to B Class 700. I went with the Clio R.S. 200, share code : 262870774.

Let’s hope the racing gods smile down on us this week, as we attempt to win a Ferrari 488.

Eventlab 1 – SUBIE156 Presents Mink Creek Circuit

B Class 700 and Hot Hatch means I went with the same Clio as above. Let’s save where we can!

A long flowing circuit, this suits the car class really well. Tick for Subie!

A Super Wheelspin is the prize.

Eventlab 2 – XRCOSWORTH01 Presents Jumbo Jangle Juggernaut

We need a Track Toy tuned to A Class 800, and so I went with a BMW M3-GTR. Share code: 198385025.

This is a great track that I really enjoyed driving. Off to a good start!

Take away a Donut Media Lightning horn as a reward.

Eventlab 3 – UNWORTHYPLEB Presents Jungle Rally Circuit.

An S1 Class 900 Rally Monster? Step forward the Hoonigan Escort RS 1800, share code : 264985022.

A hat trick of good tracks this week, this is like the greatest hits of all the dirt circuits rolled into one.

The prize for winning is 2017 M-Sport Fiesta, which is nice.

PR Stunt 1 -Speed Trap – Coast View

This week, all the PR stunts need the same car, an A Class 800 Nissan Skyline GT-R from 1997. The share name for mine is GTRA with my GT, Red620Ti.

We need to hit the trap at 155 mph.

Do so and you’ll find a Super Wheelspin heading your way in return.

PR Stunt 2 – Speed Trap – Oceano Azul

Same car needed here, and the target is 170 mph.

Another Super Wheelspin awaits.

PR Stunt 3 – Speed Zone – Punta Allen

Same car yet again, but some average speed driving to do. Go through the zone at over 120  mph to win big!

Another Super wheelspin, that is.

Seasonal Championship 1 – Cosworth a Try

Groan.

We need to use a Classic Sports Car for this event, and the tuning limit is C Class 600. I went with a Fiat 124 Spider, and the share code is : 156042119.

For winning out, we can take home an Escort Cosworth.

Seasonal Championship 2 – Up to Grade

We need to grab an “Upgrade Hero” car and make it into an A Class 800 monster. From the choice on offer, I went with a Ford Focus 2017 and the share code is : 151963655.

The prize for winning is a Nissan Skyline, just right for the Photo challenge…

Part 3: Other Challenges

Plenty to go at this week with Series 36 Summer – get bouncing and snapping!

Photo Challenge – #CITYSKYLINE

Take a photo of any Nissan Skyline at the El Pipila Statue, which is in the Ldera Speed Zone in Guanajuato. Sounds complicated? I’ll show you where to go, never fear.

Enjoy my artistic effort up at the top of this piece. The location you need to be in is below.

The reward? A new Coffee Cup outfit. Could this replace the shark for me?

Treasure Hunt – Let’s Bounce

The clue reads “These muscle cars, they’re from Down Under, so jump in one…There’s gold to plunder! Complete this challenge, it’s down to you, perform three skills called Kangaroo!”

Get in a Holden and go for a jump I guess. The Dunas Blancas area is always good for catching some air. I used the A9X, as shown in the photo to be sure I was doing it right.

The chest, when you unlock it, contains 100,000 credits, and the location is shown below.

The Eliminator – Battle Royale

We need to play the Eliminator again this week, and survive into the Top 30 of the players. Go and hide!

The reward? A new Forzalink phrase “Oh? You’re Approaching…”

Horizon Arcade – Mini Games

Time to try to complete three rounds of whichever Arcade you prefer –  drift, speed, wreckage, air or chaos. Find a group or do it solo to win a whole 3 points towards the weekly total.

Part 4: Hot Wheels Events

If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.

Seasonal PR Stunt – Drift Zone – Water’s Edge

Limited to only a Mazda RX-7 Spirit R for this event, we need to tune up to A Class 800 and go sliding. The share code for mine is : 828544829.

The target is 140,000 drift points. This is pretty tough, but sliding downhill seems a bit easier.

The prize is another Super Wheelspin. How many of these things do you have?

Seasonal Championship – Charging Up to Win

We need a Ferrari here, and it needs to be tuned to S1 Class 900.

Obviously the 812 Superfast is going to get the dust cloth pulled off it for this event, and the share code for mine is : 261040765.

Completing the championship will get us a Mazda Rx-7 Spirit R. Handy!

Part 5: Rally Adventure Events

The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to the following couple of events…

Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed Zone – Tierras Verdes

We are limited to a single car this week, and that car is the Alpine A110 from 1973, and what’s more it can only be B Class 700. The share name for mine is “ALPINE” with my GT, Red620Ti.

We need to average over 63 mph through the zone. Approaching from the south seems easiest.

A Super Wheelspin is your reward.

Seasonal Championship – Turning Up the Heat

Appropriate title given what is happening outside my office window!

We need a C Class 600 Hot Hatch to do this series, and so I went with a Honda Civic Type R from 2004, as it is already at the limit. Save those pennies…

The reward for racing? An Alpine A110.

The rewards for Series 36 and Summer in Forza Horizon 5

With Series 36 just getting going, the road to the new cars for the month should be in sight. And they are the Aston Martin Vanquish from 2018 for 80 points and a Ford Mustang DD for 160 points. Just keep adding points for now and these will be in your garage in no time.

Even more Rivals circuits have now been added with Series 36 – and we are back to the full 4 for this month. These are Copper Canyon Sprint, Arch of Mulege Circuit, Cathedral circuit (I hate this one) and Mangrove Scramble. Turn in clean laps on each track to earn a massive four points to the weekly totals. Sadly not four for each, as they seem to suggest!

Grab enough points and Series 36 Summer also sees you given access to the exclusive Lambo Aventador from 2021 for 20 points.  Additionally, for 40 points we can get the Ferrari Dino, a hard to find but very good looking car.

Well, with Series 36 just getting going, tune in at the same time next week for the next season as we get to drink more coffee and drive more cars! That is all we want in life, no?

To enjoy these events in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5. It’s available on Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.

Let us know in the comments if I have helped, hindered or missed the mark with these tunes.
