About Fisch
Fisch is, unsurprisingly, a fishing game. You take to the beach as a budding angler and need to reel fish out of the ocean depths. You sell the fish for profit, and use the profit to buy more stuff. Simple, right? More or less, if you get a hang of the slightly tricky minigame.
How To Catch Fish
The first thing you’ll need to know if how to catch fisch… er.. fish. You start out with a Flimsy Rod you can use to catch them though we’ll warn you now, it kind of sucks and makes the minigame harder than it needs to be. Fortunately, you won’t need it for very long.
The minigame is divided into three parts.
First, you equip your rod from your hotbar, and tap the water. Hold to determine the strength of your cast. The closer to the green bar, the further the cast goes.
The next thing you need to do is, tap the Shake buttons that appear on your screen. They’ll pop up in different places. Hit them to give your rod a little shake.
Eventually, you should get a bite. This is the tricky part. A bar will appear on your screen. You’ll see an indicator for the fish and you’re invited to click and hold.
Clicking and holding will cause the bar to move to the right. Leaving it will make it fall back to the left. You need to try and keep the fish icon inside the bar until the progress meter at the bottom reaches the top. If you do this, you’ve caught a fish. Congrats!
How To Sell Fish
Now you have fish to sell, it’s time to learn about the Merchant. He’s located in a hut just up the hill from your spawn. If you talk to him and select the option ‘I’d like to sell this.’ while holding a fish, he’ll take the fish and give you money in return.
Upgrades
You can buy new rods to increase your ability to net new catches. You’ll find the rods on display around the Merchant hut, the starting ones at least.
If you have the money to buy one, just interact with it to purchase. Once you’ve got it, you can open up your Equipment Bag from your hotbar to equip it.
After you complete the first two quests, you can also speak to the Shipwright NPC to purchase boats that can take you to more exotic locations with new kinds of fisch. I mean fish.
