Chapter 6: Dockside Dirge

We’re back to the dock, though this time we can explore more of it than before. There’s two suspects to inquire into this time, and both of them need something from you before they can divulge any clues.

We’ll begin by meeting them. First, go to the shop to the northeast. Move around in the shop to be greeted by the owner of the shop: The Angler.

The Angler needs you to fix the display in his shop, for which you’ll need to access the hatch in front of the display. The hatch needs to be powered on first, and the panel that will let you do that is behind a Worker Bot, which is lying inactive on the right side of the shop.

Before we continue, let’s meet the other suspect. Go out of the shop and go south and then southeast to the Supply Yard.

Here you’ll meet the Dockmaster again. The Dockmaster needs you to open the chest next to him, but the chest is rusted shut and furthermore has a complex combination lock to it.

Now return to the Angler’s shop and pick up one of the fish pins on the counter in front of the Angler.

Go to the right-hand-side of the shop and use the fish pin on the worker bot to get its drawer open.

Return to the Supply Yard and use the pry bar on the slightly loose crate to the left hand side of the screen. Pick up the rope and salt shaker inside.

Pick up the winch to the left of the crate as well, as we’ll have use of it in a bit.

Exit to the pier and interact with the barrels near the Supply Yard entrance, which will net you a lemon.

In your inventory, combine the lemon with the salt shaker and return to the Supply Yard.

Here, use the combination of lemon and salt on the chest, which gets rid of the rust. We have no idea how to solve the combination lock, however, so let’s leave the chest be for now.

Return to the Angler’s shop and go to the worker bot’s area. Use the rope on the worker bot, and then use the winch on it to move the bot.

Pick up the bot arm that’s fallen to the floor, and then access the breaker box to turn on the power (thankfully without any puzzles involved).

Now interact with the hatch in front of the display to find a puzzle (surprise!) that will get the display moving.

In this puzzle, you must align the three dials so that if you were combine their symbols, you would get the symbol below.

A quick solution to this puzzle is: left dial, right dial, middle dial, left dial, in that order.

With the display working, talk to the Angler now. On finishing your conversation with him, you’ll have access to the Angler’s private beach.

Use the door in the back of the shop to access this beach.

At this beach, first pick up the bucket of fish to the north of the red beach umbrella.

Now go south and you’ll find a boat to the east, which is missing a motor.

Go west again and pick up the green metal detector to the left side of the screen. Move the detector around the beach and interact when you see the blue lights come on (along with a mild sound).

Do this three times to get a key.

Now exit to the shop and return to the Docks. Examine the Atmosphere Fan here to find that it lacks a fuse.

Go south to the pier and then walk northwest on the pier itself. You’ll notice a boat motor that’s lying around to the far left of the screen.

To acquire it, we’re going to have to dance with a sea creature. But first, use the key from your inventory on the crane.

This lowers the hook, so that you can get the motor when you eventually reach it.

Now notice the shiny object on the crane’s platform and pick it up – turns out it’s the fuse you needed.

Go back to the Docks and use the fuse on the atmosphere fan. Pick up the plank that’s revealed, and Edward will automatically put it in place near the pier.

Now open your inventory and use your bucket of fish on the spot to the left of where the white whirlpool is.

This will move the sea creature to that location, so now cross the plank to the first island. Once again, pull out your bucket of fish and throw it to the spot that’s north of where the white whirlpool currently is.

Once again, cross the next plank to the next island. Here, examine the Devil’s Teeth spikes on this island.

Now pull out your fish and use them on the Devil’s Teeth. Throw your poisoned fish onto the spot between the two planks.

Now go left and interact with the Boat Motor to acquire it.

Now that the boat motor is acquired, we simply need to know where to go. For this, first exit through the shop and go back to the pier.

There’s a bottle bobbing in the water here, near the Devil’s Teeth – use your robot arm on the bottle to acquire it. There’s coins inside.

Now go to the Docks again and step on the pier right next to the shop. Go north on this pier to find a viewfinder.

Use the coins on the viewfinder to get a photograph of the nearby rocks. This is our clue to solve the combination lock on the chest that the Dockmaster wants open.

Return to the Supply Yard and interact with the chest to solve the lock (the photo will be on the screen as well).

Here, we simply need to match the symbols with the rock shapes. The photograph depicts the rocks with the symbols pitched in them – find the right symbol below, and click the buttons until you find the same shape as that symbol’s rock.

Here’s the complete solution.

Give the Stuffed Toy you acquire to the Dockmaster and exhaust all of his dialogue before exiting the conversation.

You’ll get a map and spyglass, so now return to the private beach behind the Angler’s shop and interact with the boat to get going.
