Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges Guide Series 41 – Winter

It is almost like they planned it over at Playground Games HQ: as Winter rolls into Mexico and Forza Horizon 5, it just so happens that Christmas plays out before the next weekly reset (on Boxing Day, date fans, and yes I’ll still be slaving over a hot keyboard to make sure you are up to date with the required info for Series 41 Spring!). For now though, the focus is on the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 41 Winter in Forza Horizon 5.

With that in mind, let’s get ready to get all festive as we see what new challenges are being unleashed. There may even be a festive costume change to look out for!

Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Going Deluxe

The subject of Series 41 Winter’s Weekly Challenge is an old one, taking us all the way back to 1932 in fact!

The Ford De Luxe Five Window Coupe is the car we need, from a time when the quality of a car could be assessed by how many windows it had… I guess the base models were just a lump of metal? Still, this thing was $500 when new, and was the first production car with a V8, so I suppose we owe it a debt of gratitude.

Should you not have one in your garage, they are on sale at the Autoshow, priced at 35,000 Credits.

Chapter 1 – First of Many

Get in your new car, take it for a spin. Step one complete.

For a bit of a faster experience, look for share name “5 Win A” with my GT, Red620Ti. With a supercharged 5.2 litre V8, it shifts!

Chapter 2 – Hot Rod in Hiding.

Spend 50,000 credits on upgrades. The tune above costs loads, so perfect for this step

Chapter 3 – Ready to Race

You know that tune I gave you? Much like last week, you’ll want to throw it away, as we now have to win the Rocosa Sprint in D Class. Sigh. Stock Trim it is!

Chapter 4 Fly the Coupe

Now we need to earn 3 stars at the “Metal Bird” danger sign at the Aerodromo en La Selva. Fly my beauty!

3 Stars is 121.9 m, in case it matters. I did have to upgrade a fair way to do this, look for “5 Win S1” to find my tune. (GT = Red620Ti)

Complete these tasks and we will be five points closer to the seasonal prizes that are up for grabs with Forza Horizon 5’s Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 41.

Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts

With the weekly challenge done and dusted, let’s dive into the rest of the mayhem on offer.

Series 41 Winter welcomes The Trial, two Eventlab, a couple of PR Stunts, some races…

The Trial – On the Norte List

This week, the challenge is to take an S1 Class 900 Porsche 911 or Nissan GT-R and see which is quickest. Got to be the Nissan, right? I went with the Black Edition, and the share code is : 394811233.

You know how there’s always one driver who is a bad apple? Whilst I’d love to name and shame, I shall embrace the spirit of the season and forgive, as we attempt to win a Mercedes AMG One.

Eventlab 1 – VEIXITY Presents Crimson Lanes Street Race

We need an A Class 800 Retro Sports Car, and so I chose a Nissan 240SX, share code : 299598631.

A neon dream, this course is fast and adventurous, with multiple jumps. Be careful of the track limits though…

The prize is a Dodge Viper.

Eventlab 2 – JOELHEAZ Presents El Circuito de Guanajuato

Hot Hatch or Retro Hot Hatch, tuned to C Class 600 for this track, and I used a stock Honda Civic Type R from 2007.

I was prepared to hate this track, but the sensible choice of car saved it. Tight and twisty, this is a real challenge.

Prize for completing this is a Super wheelspin. I was starting to run out…

PR Stunt 1 – Danger Sign – Ranas Salterinas

This week, all the PR Stunts need a S1 Class 900 car, and they are different, so two different cars. As the run up to this is off road, I went with a Hoonigan Escort RS1800, and the share code for mine is : 264985022.

Jump over 320 metres to win. The run up can be a bit tricky.

If you do it, take a Super Wheelspin home.

PR Stunt 2 – Speed Trap – Pantano Pass

Still an S1 Class car, but as this is one road, I went with same GT-R from The Trial. Share code is still : 394811233.

Hit the trap at north of 170 mph to win out. I love this car!

Another Super Wheelspin awaits.

Seasonal Championship 1 – Ho Ho Holden!

Can you guess what cars we need for this? That’s right, its’ a Holden (or HSV). Bet you never saw that one coming!

Anyway, I went with a HSV Maloo, share code: 101727402.

For winning out, we can take home a Chevy Nova.

Seasonal Championship 2 – Italy Rally

B Class 700 and Italian are what we need to know for this event, and so I chose a Lancia Delta S4 in stock trim. Off road track = off road car!

For winning, it is a Porsche 911GT3, not noticeably Italian, that we can take away.

Part 3: Other Challenges

A few things to turn your hand to this week, including some Eliminator, my absolute fave.

Photo Challenge – #NISSANTACLAUS

Puns, puns everywhere…

Photograph any Nissan at the Mission Santa Rosaria de Mulege for this challenge. See the top of the piece for my artistic effort.

The location you need to be in is below.

The reward? A new Ho Ho Ho car horn.

Eliminator – Battle Royale

Play the Eliminator they said, it’ll be fun they said!

Well, I still can’t do it, but luckily all we need to do is survive into the top 30 of players, which is pretty simple if you stay away from everyone.

Take home a new Forzalink phrase “Merry Christmas!” for doing so.

Showcase Remix – The Flying Deutsch-Man

Take the new Porsche 911 Rallye and attempt to beat the remixed Showcase event. I had a lot of fun with this. Even if the Porsche feels too slow!

If you manage it, take home a Gingerbread Outfit.

Collectibles – A Frosty Reception

We now have to drive around the Winter Wonderland and smash up some snowmen.10, to be precise, and I’ll show a picture of what we are looking for below.

Take home a new Sad Snowman head for doing this.

Part 4: Hot Wheels Events

If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.

Seasonal PR Stunt – Danger Sign – Forest Escape

We need an S2 Class 998 car for this jump, and so I went for the Hennessey Venom F5 in stock trim, as 300 mph should be enough for anyone!

Simply leap over 350m to win out. I hit the ramp at 180 mph to make it.

A Super Wheelspin is your reward.

Seasonal Championship – Let it Snow

The class this time is A Class 800, and the car has to be a GT Car.I went with a Bentley Continental GT, and the share code is : 102502146.

The reward for racing? A Nissan Z 2003

Part 5: Rally Adventure Events

The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to the following couple of events…

Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed Zone – Tierres Verdes

Any car at all is needed for this challenge, as long as it is only C Class 600.

We need to do some average speed driving, and so I chose a Land Rover Defender from 2020, share code : 155625100. We need to achieve 58 mph on average, which sounds suspiciously easy…

The prize is another Super Wheelspin. Sigh.

Seasonal Championship – Pass it On

An A Class 800 “Rare Classic” is needed for this event, and so I chose a Ferrari 365 GTB/4, and the share name for mine is “365 A” with my GT, Red620Ti.

Completing the championship will get us a Ford De Luxe, which we needed right at the top!

The rewards for Series 41 and Winter in Forza Horizon 5

With Series 41 now at Winter (again), the reward cars are in reach – It’s the BMW i4 for 80 points and an Audi RS4 Avant for 160 points that are up for grabs.

Even more Rivals circuits have now been added with Series 41 – Four of them to be precise! – Reservorio Sprint, Playa Azul Circuit, Rocosa Sprint  and for the battery lovers out there, Estadio Circuit. Should keep us out of mischief. The prize total stays the same though, 4 points for making sure you turn in a clean lap.

Grab enough points and Series 41 Winter also sees you given access to the Exclusive BMW M5 from 2022 for 20 points. Additionally, for 40 points we can get a Backstage Pass, and these can be swapped for hard to find cars in the game. Handy!

Join us next week as we carry on looking at Series 41, and while it is likely to still be winter outside, we will no doubt have more things to do in the Spring challenges. See you on Boxing Day!

To enjoy these events in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5.  It’s available on Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.

Let us know in the comments if I have helped, hindered or missed the mark with these tunes.
