After 25 years, Majora’s Mask’s blue dog has finally won its race

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask has a number of different mini-games you can enjoy, and among them is the dog race. Basically all you have to do is pick a dog, and then you see if it ends up coming out on top in a race against a bunch of other pups. You might think any dog has a real shot at winning, but that’s sadly not the case for the blue dog.

If you picked the blue dog when you attempted this mini-game and were met with a loss, don’t feel bad. Pretty much every single person out there who went with the blue dog was delivered a defeat. That’s because behind the scenes, the blue dog has a lot going against it in the stat department. As a matter of fact, the blue dog’s stats are so abysmal that a loss in the race is almost assured.

Believe it or not, in the roughly 25 years of Majora’s Mask coverage since its release, there hasn’t been any footage of the blue dog winning a race…until very recently. This is thanks to a team of very dedicated Majora’s Mask fans who wanted to not only see why it is that the blue dog always comes in last, but also figure out if it’s possible for the pup to snag a win.

As you already know from the title of this post and the video itself, the blue dog can indeed win a race…but it takes a LOT of effort. If you want to see everything that had to explored and exploited to make this happen, check out the video above!
