SWORD ART ONLINE: Fractured Daydream “Season 2” launches today, DLC 2 set for Jan. 23rd, 2025
SWORD ART ONLINE: Fractured Daydream is available now on Switch. This is the newest game in the series, offering online play for up to 20 players at once. If you haven’t checked it out yet, now would be the perfect time, as Season 2 is officially here. This season comes with a Ver. 1.2.0.0 game update as well, and you can read the patch notes for that here.
Season 2 starts off with Fuuka joining the roster, and she’s available as a completely free, unlockable character. All you have to do to earn Fuuka is play through the Main Story Quest, then complete every mission and Fuuka will be added. You can see what else is planned for Season 2 via the Event Schedule above.
Lastly, we also learned that DLC 2, titled The Devil’s Comeback, will be available on the Jan. 23rd, 2025. This DLC contains the following:
- Playable Character: Pitohui and M
- 5 Story Episodes
- New Costume & Weapons
In SWORD ART ONLINE Fractured Daydream, a new system is added to the world of ALfheim Online, but a malfunction causes all worlds and timelines to collide, creating a unique setting and challenging environment for Kirito and his friends. Lost in uncharted territory, their enemies become allies, departed characters are back, and unlikely alliances will be formed to survive the dangers in this unsettled world. SWORD ART ONLINE Fractured Daydream offers an original story in a game featuring fan-favorite characters such as Yui, Silica, Klein and more that focuses on a large-scale co-op experience with cross-play. Players engage in action-packed gameplay featuring thrilling boss raids and co-op quests.
In single-player mode, players will relive the story by facing enemies from the past, going on adventures, unraveling the mysteries of anomalies and more to discover the cause of Galaxia’s outburst. In online-only mode, players can team up with up to 20 other players to play Co-Op Quest, Boss Raid and Free Roam. In Co-op Quest, players will need to clear missions followed by challenging a boss at the end. In Boss Raid, players will go all out and battle against a giant boss enemy requiring cooperation and strategy to achieve victory. In Free Roam, players will freely explore and meet other online players to enjoy a co-op experience.
