Pokémon GO Event Announced for Expo 2025 in Osaka

A Pokémon GO event will take place during Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, from April 13 to October 13, 2025. There you’ll be to encounter different Pokémon like Pikachu, Snorlax, Meowth, and Unown (spelling out “EXPO”). Special 3D photo spots, which also serve as PokéStops, will allow you to capture snapshots using Pokémon GO’s AR feature.

Ahead of the Expo, Niantic announced that the March 2025 Community Day on March 8 will spotlight Fuecoco, the Fire-type starter from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, featuring increased shiny rates. Additionally, Black Kyurem and White Kyurem will appear during the Global Unova Tour from March 1-2, 2025.
